Job Description Summary

The Director of Downstream Marketing for Imaging is an innovative and motivated leader responsible for shaping how the Imaging portfolio is positioned and activated in the market. This role provides business-level downstream direction across modalities, ensuring clear, consistent narratives and high-quality launches that support global growth.

The Director leads the modality-level downstream leaders and partners closely with Product Marketing, Regional Marketing, Commercial, and Digital teams. This role focuses on go-to-market excellence, alignment across teams, and helps turn product launches into sustainable market excellence. This role will also help shape the cross-product narrative, building out compelling reasons to believe in our “why” and helping to translate strategy into creative market-facing impact.

Job Description

Imaging-Level Downstream Direction 

  • Defines and manages the marketing strategy and planning process and ensures that this set into effective go-to-market strategies that emboldens impact 

  • Establish a clear point of view on how downstream marketing should contribute to Imaging business objectives; setting and driving downstream marketing direction for the Imaging portfolio across modalities. 

  • Aligns and translates Imaging business priorities and modality product marketing strategies into clear guidance for market-facing execution. 

  • Ensure a consistent approach to positioning, launches, and lifecycle marketing across modalities. 

  • Disproportionately manages priorities to focus attention and effort on the most important portfolio priorities and highest impact drivers. 

 

Cross-Imaging Narrative & Positioning 

  • Shape, maintain and regularly review the Imaging-level narrative that explains the value of the portfolio and how offerings fit together. 

  • Define simple messaging frameworks that modality teams can use to tell aligned, differentiated stories. 

  • Review and guide modality-level messaging to avoid conflicting or unclear messages in the market. 

  • Lead development of shared Imaging narratives used in major launches and senior-level customer engagements; including critical positioning for annual commercial incentives/campaigns and market leading events. 

 

Launch & Portfolio Coordination 

  • Define and manage clear launch readiness process and planning, providing team direction and oversight for major launches, growth and lifecycle initiatives across Imaging. 

  • Maintain Imaging segment oversight on the annual calendar and critical milestones throughout the planning cycle to ensure effective coordination of timing, messaging, and readiness across modalities and regions. 

  • Promote reuse of launch approaches, tools, and lessons learned to improve consistency and efficiency. 

  • Oversee and drive cross-portfolio or high-visibility launches as needed. 

 

Team Leadership & Matrix Management 

  • Build, inspire and motivate a high-performing marketing organization. 

  • Create clear development plans and provide ongoing coaching for downstream marketing leaders across the Imaging portfolio to drive world class marketing efforts. 

  • Set clear expectations for execution quality, collaboration, and accountability. 

  • Encourage shared ways of working, common standards, and continuous improvement across teams. 

  • Act as a connector across teams to ensure downstream marketing is aligned, practical, and grounded in market reality. 

  • Bring a portfolio and customer perspective into planning, launch reviews, and business discussions. 

  • Partner with Marketing Analytics, Regional teams, and Commercial stakeholders to define and review meaningful indicators of marketing impact. 

  • Use performance insights to understand what is driving awareness, adoption, and portfolio pull-through across modalities.

Qualifications 

Required 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, Science, Engineering, or a related field. 

  • 12+ years of experience in downstream marketing, product marketing, or commercial marketing in a complex B2B or healthcare technology environment. 

  • Experience leading downstream marketing across multiple products or regions and markets worldwide. 

  • Demonstrated people leadership experience in a matrixed organization. 

  • Strong collaboration and influencing skills across functions and regions. 

  • Excellent communication, storytelling and influencing skills. 

  • Strong Commercial acumen, ability to turn marketing actions into commercial results. Connecting all activities from end-to-end with results. 

 

Preferred 

  • MBA or advanced degree. 

  • Experience in diagnostic imaging, medtech, or regulated healthcare markets. 

  • Experience working closely with regional marketing teams in a global environment. 

  • Familiarity with value-based selling and enterprise buying dynamics. 

  • Experience partnering with marketing analytics or commercial teams to assess downstream impact. 

  • Experience building or scaling downstream marketing practices, frameworks, or standards.

It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the pay range and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. The specific compensation offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including skills, qualifications, experience and location. In addition, this position may also be eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI).
