Compensation Overview
The annual base salary range provided for this position is a nationwide market range and represents a broad range of salaries for this role across the country. The actual salary for this position will be determined by a number of factors, including the scope, complexity and location of the role; the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; and other conditions of employment. As part of our comprehensive compensation and benefits program, employees are also eligible for performance-based cash incentive awards.

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Data Security Technologist to join our Data Security team. The ideal candidate will have advanced knowledge in data encryption, data security technologies, and data privacy. The Senior Data Security Technologist will play a key role in protecting our organization's data assets from threats and vulnerabilities, ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of data. This role requires a deep understanding of data protection, risk management and cybersecurity best practices, along with the ability to guide and mentor others.
What Will You Do?
- Ensure data security is integrated into all aspects of Travelers infrastructure, in the Cloud and On Prem.
- In partnership with Architecture, design and enforce encryption strategies for data at rest, in transit and in use to protect sensitive information.
- In collaboration with others, evaluate and implement security technologies and tools to enhance Travelers data protection capabilities.
- Own and enforce data security policies and standards.
- Strengthen data security practices where data is exchanged externally.
- Configure, test, document and implement new or upgrades to security processes, controls or products as directed.
- Stay informed about the latest cybersecurity threats, especially those relevant to data security.
- Participate in Cybersecurity and Enterprise projects as assigned.
- Recommend improvements to area procedures and products.
- Provide operational support, trouble shooting and maintenance of Data Security related processes, controls, or products.
- Independently analyze and resolve problems of high complexity.
- Consult with business peers to support and resolve cybersecurity events.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
What Will Our Ideal Candidate Have?
- Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) discipline preferred.
- Seven years of relevant experience with Cybersecurity practices, processes, and Cybersecurity event investigation/resolution preferred.
- Broad knowledge of related technologies with subject matter expertise in Tech Security related technology and business exposures impacting organizational vitality preferred.

What is a Must Have?
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Five years of work experience within Computer Science or a related field required.
