Job Title – Analyst - Data Analytics and Insights

The Purpose of This Role

As a Manager in the Data Science and Engineering group within in Fidelity’s Risk organization, you will play a key role working closely with members of Fidelity’s Corporate Services Risk teams, technology business units, and key data providers to execute on opportunities where data and information can provide insight into risk. You will participate in all phases of a project lifecycle – from framing the business question/hypothesis, identifying candidate and platform solutions, sourcing from appropriate repositories, to providing actionable insights.

  • Delivering data-driven and useful insights to enable objective & informed decisions and scale the capabilities of operations teams.

  • Developing new solutions and tools that risk professionals will use to proactively identify risk across the firm.

  • Working across Risk and Corporate Services teams to find opportunities where data analytics, automation, machine learning, artificial intelligence, or new tools can reduce manual processing and drive scale and efficiency.

The Skills that are Key to this role

  • Strong systems analysis and software engineering skills, including Python, Java, JavaScript, SQL and other database programming languages such as PL-SQL, T-SQL, etc.

  • Demonstrated experience developing ETL/ELT pipelines to and from various database systems such as Oracle, PostgreSQL, DB2, as well as cloud-native technologies such as Snowflake, Amazon RDS.

  • Proficiency performing exploratory data analysis and transformation on large and complex data sets using SQL, ETL and Python packages such as Pandas, Polars, and PySpark.

  • Familiarity with Python ORM and ELT packages such as SQLAlchemy, dbt, and SQLMesh

  • Experience with the software development lifecycle, containerization, CI/CD, codebase management, change management, and post-deployment support.

  • Experience working with and developing business intelligence objects and visualizations using Power BI or Tableau and Python packages such as Plotly or Seaborn.

  • Maintain and optimize the data infrastructure required for accurate extraction, transformation, and loading of data from a wide variety of data sources.

  • Prepare raw data in Data Warehouses into a consumable dataset for both technical

  • and non-technical stakeholders.

  • Demonstrated ability to securely implement distributed architectures using JSON, XML, data feeds, etc.

  • Create and maintain context, process, and data model diagrams along with system and user documentation.

The Expertise We’re Looking For

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, or similar disciplines.

  • 4-8 years of relevant experience in Data Analytics.
