The Hillenbrand Assistant Corporate Controller is responsible for assisting the Corporate Controller in leading the company-wide Controllership and accounting functional areas including accounting and controls, policies, and procedures, and monitoring the day-to-day financial operations of the company
Work You’ll Do:
Standardize, communicate, train, and help enforce financial accounting and control systems, standards, policies, and procedures across the organization.
Drive improvements and standardization across global Controllership processes to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
Lead the operational business accounting teams in developing, tracking, and reporting key strategic and financial metrics for internal consumption.
Lead implementation of new accounting policies and procedures across the organization.
Identify and implement digital solutions and/or improvements to provide critical financial and operational information and insights. Make recommendations for automating processes and increasing efficiency.
Provide management oversight to operational business accounting teams and Travel & Expense (T&E) team.
Fill temporary resourcing needs that may come up across the Controllership organization.
Collaborate, provide input on, and/or lead M&A integration activities for the Controllership function.
Strong US GAAP accounting knowledge and ability to draft memos around complex accounting matters.
Cost or plant accounting experience

Directly supervises associates. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training associates; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining associates; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Basic Qualifications:
Must have requirements a Bachelor’s degree (B.S./B.A.) or equivalent from a college or university in accounting; and a minimum of 7+ years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience with an emphasis in corporate accounting.
Preferred Qualifications:
CPA and/or MBA. Experience in a large public accounting firm or a public traded company. Corporate accounting and operational finance experience in a global manufacturing environment. Significant experience in merger and acquisition activity including change management experience. Exposure to improving financial reporting processes across multiple business units and creating corporate-level financial systems. Prior experience in cost accounting. Prior experience with inventory. #LI-SC1
