The opportunity
 

Join our dynamic Business R&D team in Turgi, where we develop cutting-edge medium-voltage frequency converters and HVDC subsystems. You’ll be part of a collaborative environment with six power electronics engineers and three mechanical engineers, working on innovative solutions that have a global impact. This role offers flexibility in work arrangements and international exposure, with project teams collaboration spanning Poland, Sweden, and China.
 

How you’ll make an impact

• Drive the mechanical development of medium-voltage frequency converters and HVDC subsystems in a R&D environment

• Collaborate on international R&D projects across multiple countries

• Work closely with project leaders, sponsors and suppliers to align on technical goals

• Conduct on-site technical troubleshooting (approx. 10% travel)

• Apply mechanical engineering expertise to support product development and innovation

• Collaborate with internal engineering teams to ensure seamless integration

• Test and validate new mechanical components and systems

• Contribute to the integration of new technologies and continuous improvement initiatives
   

Your background 

• At least bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related field

• Proven experience in mechanical design and development, ideally in power electronics or related industries, with tools like SolidEdge, NX, SAP and Ansys

• Familiarity with medium- or high-voltage systems and converter technologies is a plus

• Hands-on experience in lab-based product development and testing

• Strong understanding of mechanical systems, materials, and thermal management

• Experience across the full product lifecycle, from concept to production

• Excellent communication and collaboration skills in a cross-functional, international environment
