Job Description

The Role:

We are seeking a dynamic, experienced individual to join GM as a Staff Technology Manager – Low Voltage Hardware, with a strong focus on technology vision and strategy development within complex global environments, and stakeholder alignment. This role requires a keen ability to foster relationships, navigate organizational dynamics, and lead teams to take ahead of competitors with modern technology and customer needs.

We are looking for someone who is passionate and knowledgeable about low voltage hardware (such as Battery, Aggregator, Fail Operational Power, Generator, Power distribution unit and DCDC), state-of-the-art Software-defined Vehicle Electrical & Electronic (EE) architectures,  Semiconductor & Electronics, and is committed to delivering high-quality technologies that are both customer-centric and strategically viable for our business.

What You’ll Do

  • Develop strategic vision for low voltage hardware to optimize vehicle and system level performance and enhance key performance indicators (KPIs)
  • Drive low voltage hardware technology initiatives across the organization
  • Contribute to the definition of technology vision, strategy, and roadmap based on customer needs and market trends
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure technology goals and priorities alignment
  • Conduct market research, competitor benchmarking and competitive analysis to identify market opportunities and potential threats
  • Change control technology requirements, including customer stories, customer use cases, business cases and manage backlogs
  • Own product strategy documents for all the stakeholders across the company including senior leadership
  • Define and track key metrics using KPIs to measure technology success and inform future decisions
  • Communicate technology updates, progress, and plan to stakeholders across the organization, including executives, customers, and partners
  • Manage technology launches, including developing go-to-market strategies and coordinating cross-functional teams to ensure successful product launches
  • Conduct post-launch analysis to evaluate technology performance and identify areas for improvement
  • Continuously iterate and improve the technology based on user feedback, market trends, and business goals
  • Perform Make vs Buy analyses to support the in-house hardware design strategy

Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)

  • 5+ years automotive technology management or product development experience with 2+ years low voltage hardware related experience
  • Proven experience driving cross-functional projects with diverse organizations, teams, and people to drive objectives and processes in high-pressure, fast paced development environment
  • Ability to manage multiple and significantly complex projects and assignments with high level of autonomy and accountability for results
  • Capability to analyze and resolve broad and complex technical problems where guidance or precedent is not available
  • Strong communication and storytelling skills, with the ability to articulate complex concepts to all stakeholders
  • Demonstrated expertise in writing, with the ability to effectively balance and integrate vision, strategy, and technical details in a cohesive narrative
  • Bachelor’s degree on Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent experience

What Will Give You a Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications)​

  • Electrical & Electronic architecture optimization for Software-defined Vehicles experience
  • Comprehensive understanding of the software and hardware architecture associated with major vehicle features, including braking systems, thermal management, infotainment platforms, and compute modules
  • Application of Safety ISO 26262 principles such as hazard analysis and risk assessment, and safety concept development
  • 5+ years of cutting-edge low voltage hardware/technology experience
  • 5+ years of semiconductors related experience
  • Vehicle launch management experience
  • Knowledge of product design and development cycles – Global Vehicle Development Process (GVDP)
  • Previous responsibilities of collecting customer feedback and leading product improvement to enhance customer experience
