Whole Foods Market is seeking a strategic, data-driven employee experience champion to lead the company’s Team Member listening strategy and programs, including the Culture Compass annual engagement survey and Culture Compass Weekly Beat pulse surveys that reach over 100,000 Team Members. The core focus of this role is to leverage employee listening programs to generate timely insights and drive action within the organization to help achieve our business outcomes. The ideal candidate can speak the language of both people analytics and leadership stakeholders alike, leveraging data-driven insights to solve real-world operational challenges.
This role reports to the Senior Team Leader, Team Member Experience. The Team Member Experience (TMX) team is comprised of the two sub-teams of Culture and Team Member Listening & Insights (TMLI) and sits within the HR (Team Member Services) organization. Our mission is to enhance the Team Member Experience at Whole Foods Market through strategic data-driven insights, an impactful action-planning approach and connection to Whole Foods Market’s Higher Purpose, a key differentiator of our Employment Value Proposition.
This role is based in Austin, TX, with an expectation of being in the Store Support office five days a week. Internal candidates already based in a WFM Operational Area office will be considered without required relocation to Austin.
Responsibilities
- Lead the strategy, execution and evolution of Whole Foods Market’s companywide Team Member listening program including engagement measurement, continuous listening, and Team Member journey measurement.
- Own end-to-end program management including survey design, platform configuration, project and communication planning, action planning resources, reporting and continuous improvement and day-to-day ownership of the listening program vendor relationship.
- Develop program strategic roadmap to grow and evolve the program in support of business needs.
- Mobilize key stakeholders including HR Business Partners and leaders to operationalize and simplify the organization’s approach to TM sentiment reporting and action planning.
- Partner with Senior Data Scientist and Senior Business Analyst to leverage sentiment data to drive business outcomes, including delivering insights to frontline leaders, using data to drive strategic decisions and investments, and preparing and presenting actionable insights for senior leaders.
- Partner with Culture stakeholders to measure TM sentiment on Whole Foods Market mission and purpose and analyze correlation to key people and business outcomes.
- Partner cross-functionally with business analytics leaders to understand how sentiment data correlates with other business indicators and outcomes to comprehensively inform Team Member Experience strategy and actionable insights.
- Partner with key stakeholders across HR and the business for both training and optimization of user dashboards to ensure accessibility and simplicity of use.
- Partner with HR Business Partners to conduct interviews and focus groups to help fill in the gaps and contextualize quantitative data
- Implement program governance best practices to balance democratizing insights with protecting confidentiality and maintaining trust with team members.
Skills
- Passion for, and understanding of, Whole Foods Market’s Higher Purpose, Core Values and culture with a Team Member-centric mindset.
- Expertise in measuring and analyzing employee sentiment in the workplace.
- Experience with statistical programming required (R preferred)
- Comprehensive understanding of Retail, Human Resources, and People Analytics.
- Experience building and nurturing relationships with peers, stakeholders and senior leaders.
- Excellent written, verbal communications and presentation skills.
- Strong customer service orientation, project management, and follow through skills.
- Ability to distill complex information into clear and understandable insights, communicated to various audiences, across different channels.
- Intellectually curious; proactively identifies gaps and opportunities to improve processes and procedures.
Experience:
- BA/BS degree and 6-8 years relevant experience in employee experience, employee listening, talent insights or human resources management.
- Experience managing third-party vendor relationships.
- Experience working with grocery retailers or other companies with large frontline employee workforces is preferred.
- Educational background in a social/behavioral science field such as Industrial Organizational Psychology is a plus.
