Product Marketing Strategist (MTO Data Center Cooling Strategist)

The Microfluidics Technology and Operations team is seeking a forward-thinking, strategist to drive the vision and advance HP’s innovative microfluidics-based data center cooling solution.

This senior-level individual contributor position is ideal for a candidate who is comfortable working with cross-functional teams to collaborate on end-to-end deliverables such as the driving and executing on a developing strategic plan.  This position requires deep understanding of Data Center cooling product management processes who is also an adept negotiator able to think outside of the box to get things done.   

You will contribute to the development and implementation of innovative principles that affect the organization’s long-term goals and objectives. The ideal candidate employs a growth mindset philosophy and active listening techniques.

Recognized authority internally and externally on leading-edge technologies, you will spearhead the company’s strategy and lead the execution for data center cooling: you will define innovative solutions to complex and critically sensitive issues affecting multiple disciplines and work groups You will serve as organization spokesperson, you will champion this strategic initiative that affects the company’s long-range goals and objectives and you will provide mentoring and guidance to lower-level employees. 

Responsibilities

Conduct market & ecosystem research; shape business strategy: 
Gather expert insights on the current Data Center cooling landscape to assess and develop HP’s business potential, segmentation opportunities and value proposition. Monitors external factors such as market forces, economic trends, and competitive dynamics during strategic development. Develop business plan including portfolio strategy & roadmap, business model, and route-to-market. 

Strategic Partner Engagement: 
Collaborates with strategic partners to further shape and execute the overall growth strategy.


Outline the Product & Value Proposition: 
Partner on the design and refinement of the data center cooling ecosystem value proposition, product differentiation and optimize the total ecosystem. Serve as chief evangelist both internally and externally. 

Develop and recommend the go-to-market strategy options: 
Drive the development of options for the go-to-market strategy, including key partnerships and stakeholders.  Develop tactics and programs to execute this go-to-market strategy. 

Drive business strategy and execution:
Provide thought leadership and use data-driven insights to influence the liquid cooling strategic business decisions and effectively manage an incubation roadmap with priorities based on business value, feasibility and strategic alignment. Oversee and manage initiatives requiring meticulous planning, execution and successful delivery of strategic goals.

Report on business outcomes: 
Comfort in communication to all levels of the organization by simplifying complex concepts into clear, concise and actionable insights and recommendations to internal stakeholders and executives toward buy-in and alignment. Provide regular updates on business strategy and outcomes (landscape, ecosystem, barriers, opportunities, outcomes). Credibly communicate decisions, plans, status, issues and workarounds to achieve alignment. Influence decision making and problem solving across teams.

Education & Experience Recommended
•    Four-year or Graduate Degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or any other related discipline or commensurate work experience or demonstrated competence with Future Product Marketing experience.

•    Typically has 12+ years of work experience, preferably in strategic management, strategic planning and implementation, consulting, market research, or a related field.

•    Impacts multiple functions and influences long-term strategic direction across multiple disciplines or areas of HP.

Complexity
•    Invents, develops and introduces new methods and techniques that impact multiple disciplines and work groups.
•    Must have strong business acumen and ability to build business cases, communicate effectively with executives. 
•    Must have business development / account management experience at senior level.
•    Must be passionate about data centers and associated technologies such as liquid cooling systems.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several U.S. geographic markets, and we pay differently based on those defined markets. The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is $135,650.00 -- $208,900.00 annually with additional opportunities for pay in the form of bonus and/or equity. Pay within this range varies by work location and may also depend on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
