As the Manager of Privacy, Data, and Controls, you will be responsible for ensuring that our organization complies with data protection regulations and maintains the highest standards of data privacy. As a member of the Strategy, Governance and Controls team you will develop implement, and oversee processes and controls that protect sensitive information. This role requires a deep understanding of privacy laws, data management, and risk mitigation strategies.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Privacy Governance: Develop and implement privacy policies and procedures to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA).

  • Data Protection: Oversee the management and protection of sensitive data, including personal and financial information.

  • Risk Management: Identify, assess, and mitigate privacy and data security risks across the organization.

  • Training and Awareness: Design and deliver training programs to educate employees about data privacy and security best practices.

  • Privacy Incident Response: Develop and manage an incident response plan as it pertains to privacy to handle data breaches and security incidents effectively.

  • Audits and Assessments: Conduct regular and adhoc audits and assessments to ensure compliance with privacy regulations and internal policies.

  • Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including legal, IT, and compliance teams, to address privacy and data security issues.

  • Reporting: Prepare and present reports on privacy and data security metrics to senior management and regulatory bodies.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Law, Information Security, or a related field.

  • A master’s degree or relevant certifications (e.g., CIPP, CIPM, CISSP) is preferred.

  • At least 5 years of experience in data privacy, data protection, or information security roles, with a proven track record of managing privacy programs.

  • In-depth knowledge of Canada data privacy laws and regulations.

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead manage projects, and drive organizational change.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple priorities effectively.

Salary range is expected to be between

$84,375.00 CAD - $151,875.00 CAD
