What you'll do...

Building the right technology foundation for Infrastructure & platforms is vital to success at the scale of Walmart. Our team is responsible for providing horizontal services and solutions in the 'Internet of Things' space that Walmart Global Technology and its business partners can leverage. This practice owns the IoT platform services that facilitates various business domains within Walmart to implement IoT based software solutions in an accelerated manner.

Our team works closely with our US stores and eCommerce business to better serve customers by empowering team members, stores, and merchants with technological innovation. From groceries and entertainment to sporting goods and crafts, Walmart U.S. offers an extensive selection that our customers value, whether they shop online at Walmart.com, through one of our mobile apps, or in-store. Focus areas include customers, stores and employees, in-store service, merchant tools, merchant data science, and search and personalization.

What you'll do:

  • Drive design, development, implementation and documentation
  • Interact with Walmart engineering teams across geographies to leverage expertise and
  • contribute to the tech community.
  • Engage with Product Management and Business to drive the agenda, set your priorities and deliver awesome products.
  • Drive the success of the implementation by applying technical skills, to design and build enhanced processes and technical solutions in support of strategic initiatives.
  • Architect solutions running at massive scale, collaborate with fellow architects and cross functional teams, follow established practices for the delivery of solutions meeting QCD (Quality, Cost & Delivery)
  • Participate in hiring and build teams enabling them to be high performing agile teams.
  • You will work with engineering teams to create high level and low level designs, drive design
  • discussion and technical decisions.
  • You will come up with quality, best practices, other Non-functional standards and guide the teams to execute them along with helping them on overall technical and design aspects.
  • You will help implement cutting edge models and algorithms that operate on massive amounts of data and Interact with Walmart cross functional engineering teams as cloud, platform, analytics etc. across geographies to leverage technical expertise and contribute to the engineering community.



What you'll bring:

  • 11+ years of experience in design and development of highly-scalable applications and platform development.
  • Strong computer science fundamentals: data structures, algorithms, design patterns.
  • Hands on experience in Microservices, RESTful webservices development in .NETCORE
  • Previous experience in creating time series analytics pipelines, experience in building IoT systems on cloud, preferably using Azure IoT stack (IoT edge, IoT hub, Event hubs, etc)
  • In depth knowledge of Cloud Architecture, Microservice Architecture and related stacks (Service Registry, ELK / Splunk, Microservices, VMs, etc.) and container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes, etc.)
  • 3+ years of experience architecting and designing for highly scalable systems using on distributed microservice architecture techniques
  • Demonstrated expertise on designing relational databases (SQL Server) & no-sql databases (Cosmos)
  • Work exposure on agile methodologies, DevOps, CI/CD development environments/tools: Git, Maven, Jenkins
  • Demonstrated end-to-end ownership for development and design of least one cloud-based project.
  • Strong hands on development skills to prototype technical solutions.

The annual salary range for this position is $110,000.00-$220,000.00
