About the role:

In your role as Analyst, you will play a key role in MID’s Client Service (CS) function with your key purpose and objective to provide a one-stop shop to GCIB Relationship Managers, Credit & Portfolio Management (“CPM”) representatives, Product Partners, customers, and other stakeholders for all customer-related enquiries.

The Analyst will report to the Director of GCIB Middle Office (“MID”).  The role is likely to also support the JCIB side of the business as required.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Working with the MID Director and Analysts to assist and plan Project Implementation; Communications Hub; Front-Office Enablement, and Stakeholder Engagement
  • Execution and management of the middle office support model for Oceania, which aims to streamline and simplify work being done by Portfolio and the Oceania branch
  • Support the delivery of improvements and efficiencies to the Oceania business by providing middle office support.  The MID department is part of regional plans to standardise and uplift process to improve client outcomes
  • Liaise with front office, operations and risk teams to ensure a seamless transaction process. Provide guidance on requirements, including but not limited to ID documentation, internal forms, client documentation
  • Guidance on ancillary documents. Taking queries in relation to client facilities. Arranging updated client documentation
  • Co-ordination where required (between DIT, KYC, OSD team)
  • Provide guidance to enquiries from the business, product partners and the client - verification of returned executed docs
  • Provide guidance (to clients, GCIB, and product partners) on documentation / Operational process / requirements for both Bilateral and Syndication arrangements
  • General administration relating to customers, systems, facilities, operations, fee waivers etc

What we are looking for:

  • 1 – 3 years experience in years’ experience in a bank in a middle office function or in any of one of the following teams; credit and portfolio, relationship, lending, in a bank or in a large corporate
  • Undergraduate qualification in accounting, banking or finance subjects,
  • Good mathematical knowledge, Excel spreadsheet skills, research & analytical skills
  • Minimum Australian industry, business and economic understanding;
  • Be able to engage in independent research and analysis of customers and markets and apply critical thinking and a high level of attention to detail
  • Strong financial analysis acumen and ability to assess large sets of data, make expert judgment, and identify key risks
  • The ability to communicate clearly both in writing and verbally.
  • Intermediate skills in:
    • credit writing
    • financial analysis and modelling
    • legal documentation and debt structuring
  • MS office experience with key capabilities in Excel, Word and Powerpoint
