Job Description:
In support of Intermountain’ s compensation philosophy and pay program, the HR Compensation Consultant will provide support for compensation programs, job architecture, and pay practice initiatives across the organization. They support the Compensation Manager in helping their assigned portfolio achieve compensation solutions that align with organizational goals, talent strategy, regulatory compliance, and labor market conditions.
The following states are currently paused for sourcing new candidates or for new relocation requests for current caregivers :
California, Connecticut, Hawaii, Illinois, New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont, Washington.
Essential Functions
- Gather feedback on proposals, analyze data, and coordinate reviews and input; providing recommendations based on review and analysis of data
- Provide education and training materials on compensation projects, procedures and policies.
- Partner with members of the Compensation team, and all levels of business and HR leaders, to support Compensation initiatives, goals and plans.
- Act as a first point of contact for most compensation requests, appropriately responding to inquiries, gathering initial information, and assessing needs, opportunities, and needed involvement.
- Respond to and manage challenging and sensitive situations and outcomes with professionalism, discretion, and sound judgment; involving and escalating as needed to Comp Manager, HR, and operations leader.
- Manage and compete service ticket requests on a variety of compensation topics. This includes triaging incoming tickets, quick and accurate responses and resolutions to tickets, and covering for other consultants’ tickets as needed.
- Review, evaluate, and approve compensation actions including pay offers, equity adjustments, and job evaluations, ensuring market alignment, internal equity, and adherence to policy; preparing recommendations and escalating proposals as appropriate.
- Support enterprise compensation initiatives and projects by conducting analyses, audits, and reviews; managing high volumes of requests and escalations; identifying issues and opportunities; and delivering clear, accurate findings and recommendations.

Minimum Qualifications
- Experience in Human Resources, Finance, or related discipline.
- Demonstrated problem solving skills, including identifying needs and opportunities.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, and manage sensitive information with discretion.
- Experience in a role requiring effective project management skills, a high degree of accuracy, and sound decision making with limited supervision.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze and interpret complex datasets and recommend solutions.
- Demonstrated experience working cross functionally with leaders and employees in a variety of settings and projects.
- Ability to work on multiple projects and assignments simultaneously in an agile and organized manner quickly adjusting priorities and focus as needs change.
Preferred Qualifications
- CCP (Certified Compensation Professional) or related HR/compensation certification.
- Experience working directly with compensation policy and procedures.
- Human resource experience, preferably in healthcare.
- Experience in a role with budgeting and finance tracking responsibilities.
- Advanced working knowledge of electronic spreadsheets, word processing, and HRMS database programs.
- Experience working with salary survey data and doing market analysis.
Physical Requirements
- Interact with others requiring employee to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information.
- Operate computers, telephones, office equipment, and manipulate paper requiring the ability to move fingers and hands.
- See and read computer monitors and documents.
- Remain sitting or standing for long periods of time to perform work on a computer, telephone, or other equipment.

The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience.
$37.31 - $58.75
