The Opportunity:

CACI is seeking a Resident Systems Support Specialist (RS3) to provide onsite support for a Ribbon Communications based Voice over IP (VOIP) modernization (VMOD) effort for the U.S. Army. You will have working knowledge and experience installing, managing, maintaining, and trouble-shooting all components of the Ribbon system, including switch programming, translations, assigning features, voicemail, traffic optimization and routing, as well as frame wiring.  To aid with cybersecurity requirements of the VoIP system, the RS3 shall have knowledge and experience in server administration, Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS), VMware, Ribbon Federal Edge 2000s and Ribbon G5s and any other devices and software that the Contractor installs to meet the requirements of the PWS.  The RS3 will perform under the guidance of the site or installation Network Enterprise Center (NEC) personnel or other Designated Government Representative (DGR).

The RS3 shall primarily be responsible for providing technical assistance to maintain contracted levels of system performance.  This applies to the basic Ribbon system components and all ancillary equipment.  The RS3 will respond to any NEC tasking falling within the following responsibilities.

Responsibilities:

Assist the NEC or DGR in matters relating directly or indirectly to system performance. Survey, analyze, evaluate, and provide technical advice/trouble resolution pertaining to the performance and functionality of the VMOD system. Provide technical assistance, guidance, and training to the site NEC personnel. The performance of these functions will be conducive to site personnel becoming self-sufficient in maintaining and operating the installed system. Assist with the system administration and maintenance of the VMOD system. Maintain system availability and performance, utilizing the government-furnished Maintenance and Administrative Positions (MAAPs) trouble resolution tools and GFE. Assist the NEC in the performance of the following functions:

  • Detection and resolution of system failures/component failures/errors.

  • System operation.

  • Routine system software installation, upgrading, updating, and replacement per the contract.

  • Routine system hardware installation, upgrading, updating, and replacement per the contract.

  • System database backup and restore.

  • Audit trail and ID/password administration.

  • Performance of first echelon maintenance including, but not limited to, updating switch system profiles and power-off procedures to protect the system during emergencies.

  • Modification of fiber patch panels to support system requirements and maintain system performance objectives.

  • Component and system failures.

Maintain configuration management. Perform emergency replacement and configuration of failed or upgraded VMOD system components. Assist the NEC in establishing a plan or SOP for O&M methods, daily practices/preventive maintenance, training, qualification requirements, and procedures for implementation by site personnel. Assist and advise NEC personnel in all warranty related actions to include, providing instruction and assistance to the site personnel in the timely preparation and shipment of defective VMOD components to the OEM for repair, replacement, or exchange. Prepare and submit a Monthly Status Report (MSR) in duplicate to the installation or site NEC POC for review and approval.  This report shall include the monthly activities performed in the support of the contract at the installation.  The report is due to the NEC three business days after the end of each calendar month.  The NEC will review the MSR within seven working days and accept or reject the MSR in writing.  If required, a “cc” of the report should be provided to the GENM-A Project Lead.  The report shall cover the following areas:

  • Number of trouble calls attributed to system/component failures.

  • Nature of problem, location and impact on the system and system operation.

  • Action taken to correct the problem.

  • Potential or actual impact to other systems.

  • Additionally, the report shall identify significant problems, support efforts, technical assistance, advice, and subsequent problem resolutions resulting from this effort.

RS3 will be expected to be available on an eight-hour, Monday through Friday schedule, exclusive of Federal and site-specific State Government holidays

The proposed salary range for this position is:

$95,500-$210,100
