About you and this role

We are seeking our next Hardware Discipline Vessel Designer in Plaquemine, LA. In this role, you provide specialized technical support and solutions for project teams, operations and maintenance. You will understand and implement Most Effective Technology (MET), work process, tools and industry best practices within their discipline. Hardware Disciplines support both projects and technical support teams as an Inspector, Designer on large projects or Lead for their discipline on projects. This role requires advanced skills and expertise in a range of processes, procedures, and systems, and/or specialized technical expertise within an analytical/scientific method or operational process to perform a broad range of complex work assignments. You may act as a working team lead, providing subject matter guidance and coordinating work of others.

Responsibilities

• Support our plant and inspection teams by understanding the fabrication processes and developing work scopes to provide effective and reliable repairs and alterations to new and existing pressure vessels, heat exchangers and tanks allowing our plants to run reliability and efficiently.
• Drafting experience, knowledge of cad software (micro station, or AutoCAD) needed, accurate measuring, sketching and providing detailed fabrication drawings.
• Experience working with multi disciplines (piping, electrical, civil, mechanical, process engineering, process automation) and teams a plus. 
• Fabrication and/or inspection experience is a plus.
• Ability to multitask with multiple projects/tasks.
• Patience and diligence in doing research on equipment in libraries and microfilm.
• Providing technical support for pressure vessels, heat exchanger and tanks inspections and repairs.
• Project coordination: following a job from inception to completion, this includes team meetings, plant visits, shop visits and follow ups. 
• The ability to escalate issues effectively when needed.
• Ability to manage multiple competing priorities and prioritize appropriately.

Qualifications

• A minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent required.
• At least 10 years of hardware, manufacturing or related experience required, 15 years preferred.

• A minimum requirement for this U.S. based position is the ability to work legally in the United States.  No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position, including for any type of U.S. permanent residency (green card) process.

• Advanced Technical Expertise: Deep understanding of mechanical systems, process containment equipment, and piping, with the ability to apply analytical methods and industry best practices.
• Design and Inspection Proficiency: Skilled in interpreting drawings and specifications, ensuring clarity and compliance during fabrication, construction, and maintenance.
• Project Leadership and Coordination: Experienced in managing scope, schedules, and budgets while coordinating activities across multiple engineering disciplines.
• Change and Risk Management: Proficient in enforcing project change management programs, identifying risks, and ensuring safety in design and execution.
• Communication and Collaboration: Strong ability to provide guidance, lead reviews, and clearly communicate technical requirements to align stakeholders and teams.
