Your role and responsibilities
In this role, you will have the opportunity to adapt and implement the sales support strategy for Motion High Power Drives & Large Motors (base business) in alignment with ABB’s global support strategy. Each day, you will ensure outstanding technical and commercial support for internal and external customers, owning the end-to-end bid process (estimations, tenders, proposals) and ensuring full compliance with ABB standards, governance, and targets. You will also lead and develop the Sales Support capability for this scope, enabling a stronger joint value proposition for MV and High Power Drives + Large Motors.

This role is contributing to ABB Motion – Motion High Power in Chile (and supporting regional stakeholders as required). Main stakeholders are Sales & Segment Managers, Product/Service Sales Team, Tendering Team for Packaging, Excecution Team, Service, Operations/Logistics, Finance, Legal, Factory interfaces, and key customers.
You will be mainly accountable for:
Defining key targets and ensuring their achievement by overseeing progress and defining improvement actions for customer support and satisfaction.
Ensuring the most competitive offers considering the market situation and customer conditions; and identifying the most effective approach (e.g., direct sales, consortium, or channel) for better serving the customer.
Overseeing the validation of terms and conditions (commercial, technical, legal, and pricing) in each offer; and supporting bid/no bid analyses and decisions.
Participating in project risk review processes; and ensuring the required technical support and clarifications are provided to the Sales organizations during technical meetings, product presentations, and negotiations with customers.
Driving the integrated portfolio bid approach for Drives + Large Motors (base business), ensuring clarity of scope, interfaces, and responsibilities across stakeholders.
Strengthening bid discipline and governance (pricing excellence, approvals, T&Cs, risk/opportunity) to improve win rate and profitability.
Improving customer experience through predictable response times, quality proposals, and proactive management of critical bids.
Enabling continuous improvement in tools, processes, and capabilities across the sales support lifecycle (tender-to-order).
Reporting manager: Local Division Manager – Motion High Power (Chile)
You will join a high-performing, collaborative, and execution-driven team, with strong exposure to strategic customers and high impact tenders. We value ownership, speed, transparency, and winning mentality, while staying fully aligned with ABB’s safety and integrity standards.
5+ years of experience in sales support, tendering, proposal management, or sales engineering in industrial B2B environments (power, mining, metals, pulp & paper, energy or similar).
Strong understanding of Drives and Large Motors applications and commercial models (base business), with the ability to translate technical value into competitive proposals.
Strong understanding and experience in Mining, Pulp & Paper, Water & Waste, and Oil & Gas applications and customer requirements.
Proven track record leading end-to-end bids (estimations, pricing, governance, risk review, T&Cs) and influencing bid/no-bid decisions.
Solid skills in pricing, contract awareness, and risk management, working closely with Finance and Legal to ensure compliant and profitable offers.
Ability to lead, coach, and develop teams and cross-functional stakeholders (Sales, Product, Service, Logistics, Factory interfaces).
Highly adept in CRM and bid tools (e.g., Salesforce or similar), MS Office; comfortable working with structured processes and KPIs (hit rate, cycle time, NPS, OTIF).
You are at ease communicating in Spanish and English (spoken and written) in a multinational environment.
A key role in a strategic change: enabling the joint commercial motion of Large Motors + Drives.
High visibility with leadership and critical accounts, with tangible impact on win rate, profitability, and customer experience.
