InterfaceFLOR Canada, Inc. is looking for a Shipper/Receiver to work in our Belleville, ON facility.
Position summary:
The Shipper/Receiver is responsible for picking, shipping and receiving finished goods and sample orders, inventory control, carpet reclamation, general warehouse housekeeping and other duties as assigned.
Educational requirements:
• High school diploma or equivalent
Skills and experience:
• 3-5 years’ experience working in a distribution centre, warehouse, or manufacturing environment
• Valid forklift license and safety record
• Valid Transportation of Dangerous Goods certificate training
• Inventory management in a warehouse setting
• Workers must have good communication skills and be able to use computers and handheld devices.
• Attention to detail and mathematical skills.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
• WHMIS, JHSC and/or safety training would be an asset
Essential duties:
• Service the needs of the Customer Service team ensuring a timely and efficient response to customer demands/ trucking schedules and occasionally adjust work schedule to meet those requirements.
• Load / unload trailers and put product away in assigned locations
• Inspect and verify incoming / outgoing goods against invoices or other documents, and maintain internal record-keeping system
• Affix identifying information and shipping instructions on shipments
• Accurately pick orders for shipment – including sample materials for same day shipment
• Operate forklifts and other equipment safely and efficiently
• Ship and receive all returned products for the reclamation program including recording all relevant weights.
• Participate in safety related tasks (i.e. workplace inspections) to maintain a safe working environment.
• Assist with intermittent housekeeping efforts throughout the facility to maintain a clean and healthy work environment for all team members.
• Complete daily forklift safety checks while demonstrating proper operation and identifying preventive maintenance needs of forklifts and other equipment.
• Possess the ability to adapt to priority changes throughout the day and work on multiple tasks at once.
• Adhere to all safety protocols and company policies
• Assist with inventory management and cycle counts
• Collaborate with team members to meet daily operational goals
Physical demands:
• Lift up to 55 lbs. on a regular basis
• Operate battery-powered ride-on forklift equipment
• Ability to lift, reach, stand and walk daily as needed to perform all job functions
Work environment:
• Non-climate-controlled warehouse
• Climate-controlled office area
Work hours:
• Monday-Friday 8AM – 4PM
• Occasionally, adjustment of work schedule may be required to accommodate the needs of the business
