The Manager, Business Development at PaCE is integral to driving the growth and success of our continuing education programs. This role involves overseeing the development, launch, marketing, and delivery of educational products to expand our reach and impact. The incumbent will systematically convert leads into sales and maintaining strong relationships with prospective learners and corporate clients, which directly contributes to increasing quality enrolments and enhancing the learner experience.

This role lead/support the development of new programmes and the enhancement of existing ones. Collaboration with Programme Directors, industry partners and training partners is key to ensuring that products meet market needs and align with the University's strategic goal of providing high-quality, commercially driven continuing education. By collaborating with the Marketing and Operations Teams, the incumbent ensures seamless execution of marketing campaigns and programme delivery, which is crucial for maintaining our reputation for excellence. Additionally, the incumbent's ability to propose and support business development and sales activities will drive demand generation and client conversion, furthering our mission to offer innovative and relevant educational opportunities.

Overall, the Manager, Business Development, plays a pivotal role in achieving the University's objectives of growth, learner engagement, and maintaining high standards of educational delivery, ensuring that we continue to meet the evolving needs of our learners and industry partners.

Responsibilities:

  • Understand the competitive CET landscape and workforce skills trends

  • Identify opportunities and define the product’s positioning and pricing strategy

  • Develop products that are contribute to the University's strategic goal of providing high-quality, commercially driven continuing education

  • Working closely with Programme directors, subject matter experts and training partners in the product development processes to bring products from concept to market, managing the entire product lifecycle.

  • Oversee the end-to-end process of assigned programmes from launch to delivery.

  • Develop and implement execution plans to ensure on-target and high-quality programme delivery.

  • Coordinate with Operations Team for smooth course delivery and learner experience management.

  • Systematically prospect for and convert leads into sales.

  • Manage and respond to enquiries from prospective learners and corporate clients.

  • Engage prospective learners with regular updates and communication.

  • Collaborate with the Marketing Team to develop and execute marketing campaigns.

  • Utilize digital, social media, and traditional platforms to market programmes.

  • Create and coordinate development of presentation materials for marketing purposes.

  • Utilize CRM/database management tools for tracking leads, enquiries, and reporting.

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of client interactions and sales progress.

  • Generate reports to analyze and optimize sales performance.

  • Foster collaboration with internal teams, including Marketing and Operations.

  • Communicate effectively with prospective learners, corporate clients, and internal stakeholders.

  • Ensure alignment and coordination across different functions to achieve common goals.

Requirements:

  • Degree qualification with minimum 8 years of inbound and outbound sales experience; experience in consultative selling and key account management will be a strong plus.

  • Certified in ACTA/ACLP/DACE/DDLP preferred

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

  • Proven ability to convert leads into sales, demonstrated success from the funnel and leads management to close sales.

  • Experience in the education sector, particularly in continuing education or lifelong learning, is highly desirable.

  • Experience in understanding and addressing the needs of adult learners, corporate clients, and industry partners.

  • Experience managing complex projects, including product development cycles, from planning through execution and delivery.

  • Customer focus, with proven ability to develop trusting working relationships with colleagues and business partners with high expectations

  • Self-motivated and results-oriented team player with the ability to work collaboratively with others. A good listener with high energy and drive

  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities with competing deadlines

  • Familiar with Customer Relationship Management (CRM)/ database management tools for tracking of leads, enquiries, and reporting purpose.
