The Challenge

Adobe is looking for an exceptional Developer focused on platform and automation to join a distributed engineering team. In this role, you will own and evolve large-scale automation systems that support build, integration, release workflows, and engineering visibility across client-side and web/mobile platforms.

You will help architect resilient CI/CD platforms, select and extend toolchains, support peer engineering teams, and ensure systems produce reliable, actionable signals that enable high-quality, customer-ready releases. Building software at Adobe’s scale demands automation that is fast, dependable, and data-driven.

What you’ll do

• Develop and maintain fully automated CI build and deployment pipelines across multiple environments in support of Desktop and Web and Mobile applications.

• Be accountable for the setup, stability, and continuous evolution of large-scale build and integration infrastructure that powers engineering workflows at scale

• Drive end-to-end automation to streamline operational procedures and enable clear access to build, release, and engineering health signals

• Partner with product and engineering teams to improve developer experience, release confidence, and decision-making through reliable system signals

• Evaluate, implement, and enforce application, OS, and security requirements across build and release systems

• Use and maintain version control and infrastructure-as-code practices to ensure reproducibility, scalability, and auditability

What you need to succeed

• Experience building and shipping desktop applications in a large, high-volume enterprise environment

• Hands-on experience with one or more of the following languages: Python, Java, Groovy, or Ruby

• Production-level expertise with containerization and orchestration platforms (Docker, Kubernetes, etc.)

• Strong experience in both building and operating platform services, including:

  • CI/CD deployments

  • Monitoring and alerting (Splunk, Prometheus, New Relic)

  • Kubernetes-based deployments

  • Infrastructure-as-code and provisioning tools (Terraform, SaltStack, or similar)

• Ability to research, learn, and adopt new technologies quickly

• Ability to write and maintain unit tests

• Proven strength in debugging complex issues and delivering long-term, systemic solutions

• Strong grounding in agile development methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, Continuous Delivery)

• Experience supporting large, globally distributed engineering teams, especially where compiling, deploying, and technical insights are critical

• Expert-level experience with Xcode, Visual Studio, and compiler/toolchain requirements

• Demonstrated ability to document system architecture, operational workflows, and APIs

• Strong verbal and written communication skills

• Passion for solving complex problems, with comfort operating in ambiguous, platform-first problem spaces
