This role is responsible for assisting in the development of new and existing product capabilities related to global ESG standards, frameworks, and regulations. The position will partner with other groups to play a critical role in shaping the company’s overall product roadmap and ESG strategy, with significant visibility across senior management.

What You'll Do

Sustainability Subject Matter Expertise

  • Serve as a technical consultant supporting teams across Workiva to understand ESG related standards and frameworks

  • Perform research on ESG trends and best practices to drive further product enhancements

  • Analyze data and prepare presentations for product development and other product-related meetings for senior management group as well as training new team members on ESG content

Support & Guidance for ESG & Sustainability Product Management Team

  • Ensure updates to all of the existing and the addition of any new frameworks, standards, and questionnaires are incorporated into the product (GRI, SASB, ESRS, eCFR, TCFD, UNSDG, CDP, CSA, ISSB, EU Taxonomy)

  • Maintain the existing cross framework mapping relationships, map any new standards, and further develop the existing relationships through the use of AI/ML where applicable

  • Collaborate with product teams to ensure new and updates to ESG standards, frameworks, and content are incorporated into product and maintained effectively

Third Party Relationship Management

  • Serve as primary relationship point of contact with industry and regulatory content providers (standard setters, raters/rankers, other external sustainability content or data providers)

What You'll Need

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 2 years of related experience; or an advanced degree without experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Current relevant professional experience

  • Experience with ESG standard setters and organizations such as the Sustainability Accounting and Standards Board (SASB), the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) and the Task Force on Climate-Related Financial Disclosures (TCFD), International Sustainability Standards Board (ISSB) and European Financial Reporting Advisory Group (EFRAG) or experience with ESG ratings agencies such as ISS, MSCI, Sustainalytics and CDP etc.

  • Experience in a product development and/or product management functions or responsibilities a plus

  • Excellent data analysis skills, with ability to synthesize and present information

  • A detailed understanding of ESG standards and guidelines such as SASB, GRI, TCFD and UNSDG

  • A natural curiosity to learn new concepts and industry best practices and an ability to be agile and adapt in this rapidly changing regulatory and technology environment

  • Be comfortable executing on multiple projects and high-quality deliverables simultaneously with excellent time management skills and ability to prioritize

  • Demonstrates strong analytical abilities, attention to detail, organizational skills and commitment to accuracy

Travel Requirements and Working Conditions

  • Willingness to travel up to 20%  for team and corporate meetings, fostering relationships and representing company interests 

  • Reliable internet access for any period of time working remotely, as we embrace flexible work arrangements

How You’ll Be Rewarded

✅ Salary range in the US: $102,000.00 - $173,000.00

✅ A discretionary bonus typically paid annually

✅ Restricted Stock Units granted at time of hire

✅ 401(k) match and comprehensive employee benefits package

The salary range represents the low and high end of the salary range for this job in the US. Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. The actual salary offer will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience and other relevant factors.
