Responsibilities:

Technology Engineering Group (TEG) is responsible for supporting the company and its business groups on technology and operational platforms, as well as the construction and operation of R&D management and data centers, TEG provides users with a full range of customer services. As the operator of the largest networking, devices, and data center in Asia,TEG also leads the Tencent Technology Committee in strengthening infrastructure R&D through internal and distributed open source collaboration, constructing new platforms and supporting business innovation.

1. Lead the capacity planning, site selection and ISP peering of our edge network infrastructure, with a focus on North and Latin America regions.

2. Develop and implement infrastructure deployment to edge nodes, providing high performance and availability to edege services such as CDN, security acceleration, and edge computing products.

3. Improve the quality, latency, and stability of edge networks across the Americas region through optimization techniques, including BGP unicast, anycast network routing, and system level performance tuning.

4. Manage construction projects for bandwidth, racks, equipment, and dedicated lines of edge network nodes in the Americas region, fostering collaboration and facilitating the delivery of interconnection resources such as Peering and Cache with local ISPs.

Requirements:

1. Bachelor's degree or higher in computer science or related fields. Proficiency in English required, Spanish or Portuguese preferred.

2. 5+ years of hands-on experience in planning, constructing, operating, and architecting large-scale cloud or CDN network infrastructure.

3. Familiarity with global IP backbone networks, particularly in North & Latam Americas, and expertise in IDC network architecture.

4. Proven ability to propose and execute effective resource network planning solutions, driving operator cooperation and overseeing project management.

5. Knowledge of TCP/IP, BGP protocol, network SRE experience and scripting languages like Shell and Python preferred.

6. Prior experience in large-scale CDN, security acceleration, and edge computing resource network planning, operation, and construction project management preferred.

7. Exceptional communication, collaboration, project management, and problem-solving skills, with a proactive and self-driven approach.

The base pay range for this position in the state(s) above is $126,000 to $237,600 per year. Actual pay is based on market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. A sign on payment, relocation package, and restricted stock units may be provided as part of the compensation package, as well as other medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the specific position offered.

Employees are also able eligible to participate in the Company’s 401(k) plan, accrue from 15 up to 25 days of vacation leave per year, up to 10 paid holidays per year, 2 floating holidays and accrue up to 10 days of paid sick leave per year. Benefits may be pro-rated for those who start working during the calendar year.
