Chemours is seeking a Global Product Manager for Nafion™ IXM to join our team. This position will be available at our Wilmington, DE site and report directly to the APM Vice President of Commercial Operations.
The APM Global Product Manager for Nafion™ IXM (IXM GPM) is responsible for the planning and execution of the Nafion™ IXM product line portfolio strategy. Additionally, the IXM GPM works collaboratively with the Senior Director of Strategic Markets, developing the strategy for growth in critical new applications.
The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:
Planning/Strategy
Drives the development, planning, and execution of an integrated global product line strategy including asset, technology, and brand strategy to deliver against Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) ensuring the health of the product line today and in the future
Ensures clear communication of product line strategy to relevant functions including (but not limited to) Operations, Technology, Supply Chain, Quality, Procurement, Marketing, Business Development, Sales, and Product Stewardship.
Develops 5-year net working capital and Capital Expenditure (capex) plan for the Nafion™ IXM product line, and reconcile any conflicts with product line cash goals
Develops necessary documentation to support investment capex requests and capital projects, i.e. business case “4-blockers”, White Papers, Business Objective Letters (BOL), etc.
Drives variable cost productivity and assessment of competitive cost position and industry supply-demand utilization
Responsible for preparation delivery of bi-annual Health of Portfolio (HOP) review; communicating to APM leadership product line strategy, execution plans, and key product line choices/investments
Ensures balance between supply & demand across the full 5-year strategic view
Communicates key internal and external raw material supply requirements to support 5-year product line strategy, to Monomers GPM and Procurement, respectively
Provides strategic directions of global buy vs. make plans
Sets product floor and target pricing for sales team, quality standards for plant site team, Cost of Goods Sold/Cost of Manufacturing targets for Operations and sourcing teams, and service level requirements for supply chain team consistent with overall strategy and ensure the execution
Works closely with Contract Manufacturing and Procurement team, providing strategic direction for new and existing Contract Manufacturing relationships, managing contract terms, setting quality/yield expectations, etc
Collaborates with Product Stewardship and Regulatory team to develop product line compliance and advocacy strategy
Monitors uptime and yield for assets and ensure plant team to deliver the targets
Sets global priority for core product supply to regions, segments, and customers during supply constraints in consultation with Global Supply Chain Planner
Collaborates with Sales, Marketing, and Business Development teams to set service level, lead time, MOQ consistent with overall strategy and market/customer needs
Collaborates with Marketing to develop global market plans of current products to current segments
Product Portfolio
Drives global stock keeping unit (SKU) optimization and rationalization with Supply Chain, Operations and Technology team and execute with Sales Team
Oversees long-term trends in quality and identify product line quality requirements from target markets, where quality improvement is most critical. Make strategic recommendations to improve overall product quality
Responsible for resolution of quality issues through implementation of product line corrective actions - providing Quality, Operations, Technology team with business guidance and support, especially during High-Impact Quality Constraints (HIQC)/Cat A incident investigations.
Accountable for the development and maintenance of global product specifications and datasheets by providing technology team with business guidance
Business lead for annual product specification reviews at the sites prepared by site quality team
Has responsibility as Product Owner in Agile New Product Development process, working collaboratively with Delivery Managers and Technology teams.
Supports new product development through the Agile Stage Gate process and ensure a solid business case for all new product development, developing a robust asset and supply chain strategy
Monitors execution of R&D programs and ensures consistency with product line priorities
Collaborates with Technology, Marketing, and Business Development teams to develop value propositions for product lines
Sponsors and prioritizes Change to Business (CTB) process for Supply Chain team and provide CTB guidance required for new product launches, new packages, new supply chain flows, etc.
Ensures plant MOC (Management of Change) process aligns with market needs and customer requirements
Drives capacity release efforts with relevant Technology, Operations, and/or Contract Manufacturing teams by providing business prioritization guidance; sponsoring and driving High-Impact Supply Constraint (HISC) management process when applicable
Provides supply allocation decisions with allocation principles and criteria, ensuring regional customer facing teams are aware of product line allocation principles
Provides business guidance to Supply Chain on global inventory management
Works closely with Product Stewardship, Regulatory, and Sustainability teams to identify potential sustainability issues within the portfolio; working collaboratively to develop necessary technology, advocacy, and stakeholder engagement plans including CRC (Corporate Responsibility Commitments)
Owns Step 1 of CIBM (Chemours Integrated Business Management) process (Product Step), leading monthly communication meeting with key product line participants
Participates in Step 2 of CIBM process (Global Demand Review) representing product line management
Participates in Step 3 (Supply Review) as well as OPR (Operations Production Review) and provide business updates and product line management guidance
Participate in Step 4 (Global Internal Reconciliation or “IR”) and provide product line business review and execute decisions and guidance from Global Business Leadership
Pricing
Sets product floor and target pricing consistent with overall product line strategy
Responsible for transfer prices with any Joint Ventures and/or internal Chemours consumption
Utilize Salesforce.com (SFDC) Price Approval process to approve price requests below floor prices and above ceiling prices
Utilize SFDC Sample Approval process to approve product sample requests
Customer
Conduct customer visits with sales team for specific items that require product line management involvement

The following is required for this role:
Bachelor/Master degree in Engineering, Business Management or Marketing
5+ years of business/marketing/commercial background with customer-facing experience
Strong business acumen
Analytical skills and ability to make confident, fact-based, decisions and acts on decisions with a sense of calculated risk-taking
Forecasts issues in advance to prevent potential impacts; both internally and externally
Strong written and oral communication skills – ability to present information and ideas in an articulate and organized way to a variety of audiences and levels
Excellent interpersonal relationship skills: ability to work well with colleagues at all levels in the organization while creating/maintaining a respectful work environment
