Job Description Summary

Responsible to ensure compliant and efficient statutory and tax processes for the Brazilian operation, as well as overseeing the execution of strategic statutory activities. The local statutory and tax processes include the oversite of indirect and direct tax account reconciliations, US GAAP-to-Stat-to-Tax reconciliations, tax compliance process management as well as statutory legal entity governance management. The successful candidate will manage a team.

Job Description

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Ensure all statutory and tax compliance and reporting activities are executed accurately, efficiently, and in full compliance.
  • Collaborate with statutory/tax leaders and service providers to maintain accurate processes, reporting, and key metrics.
  • Oversee and improve centralized processes for income and VAT tax account reconciliations to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
  • Develop and implement remediation plans for tax reconciliation issues, coordinating with regional/global counterparts as needed.
  • Partner with in-country providers to optimize tax positions, reduce statutory costs, and manage risks.
  • Lead and oversee a team supporting quarter-close activities, including risk/opportunity analysis, process improvements, and technology initiatives.
  • Ensure delivery of audited statutory financial statements under BR GAAP (CPCs) and manage relationships with internal and external auditors, while enhancing systems with accounting and IT teams.

Required Qualification

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • Solid experience in public accounting and/or multinational environments.
  • Professional certification (CPA, Chartered Accountant, or equivalent).
  • Strong analytical and project management capabilities.
  • Experience with tax (direct and indirect) aspects of systems implementation.
  • Proficiency in English for business communication (written and spoken).
  • Expertise in local GAAP and US GAAP, with strong leadership, problem-solving, communication, and program execution skills.​
