CACI's Mastodon Design is looking to hire a Senior Embedded Software Scientist in Rochester, NY. This organization specializes in designing and building hardware and software to meet our customers’ next requirement. We focus on offering devices that can be fielded immediately to meet the mission needs that lie directly ahead. Size, weight, power, and packaging are of paramount importance in everything we design and build. Our expertise allows us to rapidly provide these solutions in specialized electronic/mechanical design, embedded & application-level software, reverse engineering & protocol analysis, and RF signals exploitation and communications systems.

We are currently seeking senior embedded software scientist with a background working with embedded processors and operating systems.  Ideal candidates will have 10+ years of development experience with a focus on embedded platforms.

Successful candidates will need extensive experience in the following areas:

  • Embedded programming experience in C, C++ (>= ’11), Perl/Python
  • Strong Experience developing a variety of applications on real -time, multi-threaded embedded systems
  • Designing and implementing device drivers, firmware, bootloaders, and embedded communications
  • Ability to work with electrical/hardware engineers to produce integrated products and solutions

Minimum Qualifications:

Minimum Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, or Computer Engineering and a minimum of 10 years of experience or an equivalent combination of skills, education and experience.

Skills and Knowledge:

  • Knowledge of tactical wireless sensors and communications systems.
  • Knowledge of real-time embedded HW & SW systems, signal processing applications, RF systems, digital systems, spectrum capture platforms, data fusion / mining, location services, processing frameworks.
  • Experience with intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (ISR) or electronic warfare (EW) systems
  • Experience in new business development including creating BoEs and technical write-ups
  • Experience interacting with customers, development teams, and program managers
  • Knowledge of Microsoft software applications and other software applications as required
  • There is no clearance requirement to begin employment. As a requirement of continued employment you will be required to obtain Secret clearance.
  • Operating Systems Experience
    • Windows, Linux/Unix
  • Preferred Development Tool Experience
    • Microsoft Visual Studio, Matlab, IntelliJ IDEA, JIRA/Confluence (Agile) · Microsoft Office, Git / SVN, GCC/Clang

Pay Range: There are a host of factors that can influence final salary including, but not limited to, geographic location, Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, relevant prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, education, and certifications. The proposed salary range for this position is:

$104,200-$229,200
