Senior Manager, Portfolio Planning, PlayStation Studios

Team – Portfolio Strategy and Franchise Development // Office of Product Management // PlayStation Studios

Location – San Mateo/LA Preferred, Remote Considered.

 

The Senior Manager, Portfolio Planning will be responsible for evaluating new game opportunities based on portfolio and business objectives.  You’ll lead and develop a team of portfolio analysts, evaluating titles based on market attractiveness, commercial potential, profitability, and portfolio fit.  You’ll ensure recommendations are aligned with overarching goals and priorities, resulting in relevant and actionable insights.

Key Responsibilities

  • Be a key stakeholder in the evaluation of new game opportunities, including commercial potential, level of risk, and fit within the portfolio. 
  • Develop and mentor a team, ensuring that the team’s analysis and recommendations are reliable, credible, and actionable.
  • Evaluate market attractiveness, addressable market, and commercial viability through in-depth product evaluations. 
  • Be a subject matter expert on market, product, channel, and business model requirements to achieve product market fit.
  • Partner with development strategy, production, and studio teams to conduct in-depth portfolio assessments.
  • Collaborate with data, user research, product management, and other teams to gather qualitative and quantitative insights that validate new game concepts with our players.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years’ experience in product management, MBA Preferred.
  • Experience leading a team of product managers in the gaming industry.
  • Deep understanding of game mechanics, player engagement, and user experience to evaluate new game concepts and their commercial viability.
  • Ability to analyze market trends, competitive landscapes, and player preferences to identify opportunities and threats.
  • Strong business acumen and a thorough understanding of business cases and their financial implications.
  • Detailed-oriented, organized, and customer-centric mindset.
  • Passion for innovation and push

At SIE, we consider several factors when setting each role’s base pay range, including the competitive benchmarking data for the market and geographic location.

Please note that the base pay range may vary in line with our hybrid working policy and individual base pay will be determined based on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location.

$215,400$323,200 USD
