KKR REAL ESTATE CREDIT AND K-STAR INVESTMENT SERVICES OVERVIEW

KKR Real Estate Credit was formed in January 2015 to invest in real estate credit products and complement KKR Real Estate’s private equity platforms. Within KKR Real Estate Credit, we seek opportunities where we have a sourcing, underwriting or execution advantage by leveraging KKR’s brand, industry knowledge and relationships. KKR Real Estate Credit currently invests through six separately capitalized vehicles across our Direct Lending and Securities portfolios and consists of 50+ dedicated professionals based in New York, San Francisco, Houston and Dallas.

K-Star Asset Management LLC ("K-Star") was formed in 2022 and is a wholly owned subsidiary of KKR. K-Star is a dedicated investment services platform that supports underwriting, asset management, loan origination, securities investing, risk management, and client experience for KKR Real Estate Credit as it continues to scale. The K-Star team includes industry specialists in special servicing, asset management, due diligence, and loan closing, among other functional areas. POSITION OVERVIEW

K-Star is seeking an enthusiastic, intelligent, and diligent associate to join the Compliance Department. The associate will be responsible for assisting team members with the governance, oversight, reporting, and active management across the platform, and should be able to monitor compliance requirements and performance. The candidate will also be expected to participate in special assignments. This candidate must be an exceptional communicator with a goal towards stellar process execution and must have the ability to build strong partnerships across the various KKR businesses, including the Firm’s real estate credit originations, legal, finance and asset management teams.

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide compliance, oversight, monitoring and reporting for K-Star’s asset management and servicing platform
  • Assist with the ongoing maintenance of the compliance program, including state licensing program requirements and reporting, entity and state registration program requirements and reporting, conflicts checks requests and wall cross checks requests, and KYC/AML related requests and/or submissions
  • Manage K-Star’s annual compliance reporting communications, compliance notices and documents (digital and/or physical)
  • Coordinate the annual review of policies and procedures and assist with drafting, revising, and maintaining policies and procedures
  • Assist in the preparation of K-Star Compliance & Operational Risk Management Compliance Committee materials review, including ongoing maintenance of compliance risk assessments and assisting with testing and monitoring of Compliance controls
  • Assist in coordinating with colleagues in the Legal/Compliance team and other teams to identify and address any gaps between existing processes, including information barrier management and restricted list analysis
  • Manage pooling and servicing agreement abstracts for compliance and reporting requirements for Securities and the servicing agreements for compliance and reporting requirements for Direct Lending
  • Participate in special projects as needed to implement and maximize new technologies to support K-Star’s platform

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in commercial real estate finance or servicing
  • Minimum 3-5 years of relevant compliance experience
  • Strong project management skills
  • Consistent attention to detail; acts professionally regarding sensitive subjects and maintains confidentiality while exercising discretion at all times
  • Sound interpersonal skills and relationship building abilities
  • High proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Effective communication skills including strong written communication skills for report writing and analysis
  • Proven ability to manage multiple demands and projects in a fast-paced work environment, including ability to prioritize time efficiently and handle heavy workloads while remaining attentive to detail
  • Team player with collaborative and strong relationship building skills, and with the ability to work independently and in a way that reflects the company’s culture and core values
  • Skilled at developing and maintaining personal, social and business relationships representing KKR in a professional manner
