Are you interested in a highly visible US Medical Affairs role that allows you to contribute to the US Medical Launch Strategy and plans in a new Specialty Disease Area? If so, this Medical Affairs Director role could be an ideal opportunity to explore.

This role will provide YOU the opportunity to lead key activities to progress YOUR career, these responsibilities include some of the following;

  • Supporting the US Medical Affairs Lead with the development and execution of the US Medical Launch Plans in hepatology.

  • Understanding the evolving US healthcare environment (provider/expert) and payer landscape and translating that knowledge into the medical strategy, objectives, and all activities.

  • Planning and execution of medical tactics in collaboration with the cross-functional Medical Matrix Team.

  • Prioritizing investment in medical activities to deliver the greatest, strategically aligned, impact on patient care measured via GSK’s Medical Impact Framework.

  • Leading advice seeking activities and other external engagements to advance scientific and medical understanding of the appropriate development and use of medicines, the management of the disease, and patient care.

  • Supporting medical grants, sponsorships, and other collaborations through development of the associated asset(s) strategy.

  • Partnering with Medical Communications & Scientific Training and Medical Information stakeholders to ensure communication goals and medical materials created align with the US medicine strategy and business needs.

  • In collaboration with field medical, identifying relevant external experts and key on-line influencers and supporting the development of an external engagement plan.

  • In partnership with the US Medical Affairs Lead, providing input to shape clinical and health outcomes evidence plans to support anticipated US Market needs.

  • Applying sound medical governance for all activities.

Why you?

Basic Qualifications:

We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals:

  • Advanced Scientific or Clinical Degree (PhD, PharmD, or MD).

  • 5+ years of Medical Affairs experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus:

  • Industry and/or clinical experience in the hepatology therapeutic area

  • Product launch experience and US commercialization experience

  • Flexible thinking - ability to analyze external environment and translate to strategy and gain support of others to implement a vision. Must demonstrate good judgment.

  • Business Acumen- ability to analyze external environment and translate to strategy.

  • Customer focused – ability to evaluate and understand the needs of the patient and healthcare ecosystem and build a customer-focused plan. 

  • Building relationships – ability to work effectively with others, delegate appropriately and foster a culture of collaboration.

  • Enable and drive change – ability to influence to deliver results, proactively look for new opportunities and constantly anticipate the need for change.

  • Learning agility- must demonstrate deep understanding of the disease area, asset and competitive landscape.

  • Demonstrated understanding of medical affairs accountabilities for evidence generation, external engagement and advice seeking.

  • Strong organizational, planning, and business acumen skills. 

  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
