As the Xylem EHS Professional, you will provide leadership direction around our EHS strategy to an aligned division. In this role you will mentor and support the business with their execution of EHS compliance, driving development, implementation and continuous improvement. The EHS professional will oversee Xylem’s EHS programs to achieve and maintain compliance with provincial regulations, jurisdictional requirements and local laws as well as corporate policies and procedures.

Core Responsibilities and Tasks

•    Working within Xylem's EHS Management System, strategy and policy framework, propose and implement health, safety and environmental strategies, guidelines and procedures within broad principles and policies set by the organization to meet EHS requirements supporting short and long-term business needs
•    Advises all levels of management on government jurisdictional regulations relating to EHS and recommends necessary action to attain compliance to regulation or conformance to company standards
•    Develop division specific strategies to achieve a Safety culture focused on hazard identification and risk reduction
•    Oversees programs for existing and potential EHS concerns and recommends resolution
•    Develops programs for EHS remedial action and counter measures
•    Leads teams through critical EHS events
•    Maintains relationships with jurisdictional regulatory and government agency personnel
•    Is accountable for leading and driving EHS execution through the core business
•    Leads the execution of EHS training and routinely reports on progress and holds leadership accountable
•    Provides EHS leadership to organizational staff; reviews and assesses performance, builds organizational capabilities

Formal Education
Required: 
•    Bachelor’s degree in occupational health & safety or related Engineering or Science field

Preferred: 
•    Certified Safety Professional (CSP)
•    Additional Environmental, Health & Safety certifications preferred Knowledge & Experience
Required: 
•    Minimum 5 years’ experience in Environmental, Health and Safety 
•    2 + years’ experience in manufacturing and industrial services organizations
•    Ability to engage and influence at all levels of the organization
•    Exceptional oral and written communication skills, with ability to interface seamlessly with all levels of management. Comfortable working in virtual environments with remote teams and across a broad set of stakeholders
•    Strong computer skills including proficiency in Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint, online software platforms, with the ability to use spreadsheets and data analysis application
•    Self-starter, motivated team player, with ability to bring alternate points of view to the discussion and analysis
•    Excellent analytical, organizational and time management skills
•    Ability to multi-task and effectively organize responsibilities. Strong project management and leadership skills, self-motivating skillset that drives results both autonomously and in a team environment

Salary range:

$70,500.00 - $126,500.00
