SWBC is seeking a talented individual to plan, develop, establish, and oversee the interpretation and implementation of policies and objectives of the insurance agency pertaining to commercial lines, personal lines, REO, and MGA insurances services in accordance with executive and/or board directives.

Essential duties include the following:

  • Identifies, develops, and executes executive strategic initiative plans and business objectives designed to promote profitable growth.  
  • Evaluates the profitability of the various plans formulated by different departments; formulates observations and recommendations; and discusses with President and Chairman.  
  • Oversees the activities of the executive management team to include providing direction with the interpretation and implementation of the financial business plans for each department within the agency.  
  • Directs with agency’s revenue generation and expansion activities through mergers and acquisitions to include evaluating potential alliances; coordinating detailed financial valuations; identifying and evaluating market conditions and risks; and presenting findings to the President, Chairman, and/or other executive team members.
  • Ensures financial strategies are cost effective and revenues are maintained.
  • Provides leadership in developing, planning, and implementing the agency’s plans.  
  • Analyzes and distributes budgets for different projects.  
  • Performs other duties as required. 

Serious candidates will possess the minimum qualifications:

  • Extensive experience in planning and business development, market research and analysis, and mergers and acquisitions.
  • Proficient in commercial lines, personal lines, REO, and MGA insurances services, underwriting policies, practices and procedures, insurance law and underwriting marketing principles and techniques.
  • Ability to publicly represent company with internal and external clients in sensitive and highly visible circumstances.
  • Strong quantitative and qualitative analytical skills to mine, design and formulate strategic position relative to competitors and market.
  • Strong business development and client relationship management skills and ability to establish credibility among clients.
  • Strong problem structuring and strategic problem solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills including listening, writing and presentation skills to include presenting recommendations to senior executives and clients.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to cultivate relationships, facilitate negotiations and build partnerships with clients and key stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational skill and the ability to translate broad objectives into actions and results.
  • Ability to work effectively in teams, across geographies; communicate ideas clearly and confidently, articulate issues and recommend solutions.
  • Analytical orientation with ability to develop and use metrics to make business case, align strategy for entity supported with corporate goals and assess and justify the performance of plans and programs.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects with initiative and influence.
  • Proficient in standard Office software, ability to work with a variety of finance/ERP systems a plus.
  • P&C Insurance License and Surplus Lines License.
  • Professional designation in CIC, CRM, or CPCU preferred.
  • Able to sit for long periods of time.
  • Able to stoop, kneel, and lift 10-20 lbs. of reports and/or documents.
  • Able to travel locally or nationally.
