Location: Edinburgh (typically 3 days in the office per week, 2 from home)

We are now looking for an Enterprise Integration Architect to join the team in Edinburgh, you will lead the architecture and design of cloud and integration services and assist our organisation with helping to define and support wider change programmes, as well as coming up with innovative integration solutions to fulfil the technical business needs and wider adoption of our data and analytics capabilities.  You will act as a key enabler in the digital transformation of the company, collaborating with the Head of Data Office, Head of Data and Integration and key stakeholders involved in forming and delivering our digital, data and integration technologies strategies.

This is a role where you will support key business initiatives helping leaders visualise both the current state, target state and roadmaps for cloud and integration capabilities.  You will understand how to monetise and operationalise the delivery of new technologies by applying existing, new and emerging technical capabilities, including AI to new and evolving business and operating models, in addition to:

  • In collaboration with the CTO Management Team, shape and validate our organisation's technical cloud and integration vision, technology roadmaps to deliver to the target architecture.
  • Define strategies and methodologies to address the constant evolution of our integration services, by analysing existing capabilities and ensuring our on-premises and cloud integration platforms remains at the heart of our organisation.
  • Provide architectural support to the Head of Data and Integration with capability selections/designs for integration capabilities
  • Collaborate with other teams within the organisation to devise and implement integration strategies, roadmaps, and assess business needs and goals.
  • Develop standards, patterns and reference architecture for application programming interfaces (APIs) to transform, retrieve/expose data products.
  • Clarify strategic intentions and anticipating business and technology trends by recommending business and technical improvements.
  • Demonstrate technology risks for the integration domain, e.g. technology obsolescence, including vendor lifecycles and any required change initiatives to be included within the change portfolio/runway.
  • Use innovative thinking to develop solutions to new and existing challenges, engages stakeholders to act; serves as a source of expert advice/IT consultancy, influences change; frames information in a broader organizational context.
  • Work closely with the IT/Business Architects and IT Security to deliver solutions artifacts required for end-to-end architecture to allow for seamless delivery.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation for our integration architecture, including integration catalogues, for API’s, services, and data interfaces, for transparency and reusability.

We’d love to hear from you if you have:  

  • An enterprise-level of thinking in Architecture, with a keen focus of integration and cloud architecture
  • Strong data and integration skills, capable of delivering cloud-based technology solutions that seamlessly integrate diverse data sources and secure data flow across systems. 
  • Maintain a strong understanding of emerging technologies in the integration space (e.g. microservice architecture and serverless integration).
  • Experience with Cloud-based data and integration platform capabilities, including utilising technologies e.g. Snowflake, AWS and Azure services.
  • Experience with integration tools and platforms (e.g. Informatica, Snowflake, MuleSoft, Dell Boomi, Apache Kafka).
  • Design and delivery experience with cloud-based integration services (e.g. AWS Lambda and AWS Glue)
  • A proven track record of translating business requirements into integration capabilities, including point-to-point, message bus, API-led and event-driven.
  • Experience in engagement with stakeholders to act, serving as a source of expert advice/IT consultancy.
  • Experience in influencing change programmes and frames information in a broader organisational context.
  • Proficiency in ETL and ELT processes, with experience in designing data pipeline solutions for efficient data extraction, transforming, and loading across various platforms.
  • Experience of working with the Scaled Agile Framework for Enterprise (SAFe) methodology
