About you and this role

Dow has an opportunity for a Lead TS&D Specialist / Senior TS&D Specialist as part of Dow Plastics Additives (DPA) located in Lauterbourg, France. In this fast paced, customer-facing technical role you are a member of a customer account team within the Technical Support and Development (TS&D) Group. You will partner with technical team members, sales, and marketing to support the commercialization of new innovations and defend existing business.  By conducting robust scouting and through close collaboration with key customers, you will conduct development activities to fill our innovation pipeline. Your primary job role will involve supporting the DPA new business development portfolio in engineering thermoplastics and thermosets applications, and delivery of Dow’s business strategy to provide differentiated innovation to key partners.

Responsibilities

  • Provide TS&D support to business accounts by responding to technical questions and needs of customers.
  • Use broad market, customer, and application knowledge and understanding of competitive technologies to solve complex technical issues.
  • Prepare experimental plans, using relevant internal test methods, to develop results which provide insights into application performance.
  • Develop applications and implement solutions to eliminate defects and improve performance of products.
  • Deliver presentations or reports that distill complex ideas into clear results and proposals; communicate appropriately to influence internal and external audiences.
  • Communicate and appropriately document work in the form of internal reports/Report of Call's/presentations.
  • Recognize patentable ideas, participates on patent teams and generates critical data to support the protection of intellectual properties.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience required.
  • Bachelor Degree in Chemistry, Engineering, or science related field required.
  • Masters degree or additional relevant study is preferred.
  • Must be willing and able to meet all applicable requirements related to business travel supporting customers throughout EMEAI.  Approximately 25% travel is expected.
  • Must speak fluent English and speaking French is preferred.

Preferred Skills

  • Technical experience with material science and processing of Engineering Thermoplastic polymers.
  • Knowledge and hands-on experience with plastics conversion processes, such as injection molding, extrusion, calendaring, and compounding.
