Job Summary:

Under general supervision, this position is responsible for leading pricing activities for our LTL business accounts to maximize profitability and efficient utilization of company resources. This position requires less supervision, more responsibility, and would create/submit smaller proposals independently. Larger and/or complex bids would not be submitted without being reviewed by a manager.

Job Description:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Determine pricing consistent with company objectives as it relates to market rate and customer objectives with minimal errors
  • Work with assigned pricing team to support preparation for customer reviews, maintain market competitive pricing, and to retain and expand business; strategize and influence with internal teams to understand customer requirements, objectives related to pricing needs, and market intelligence, as needed
  • Support bid process by collecting and analyzing preliminary rate and volume data, and published accessorials relative to operational characteristics for actual cost and revenue collection trends in order to maintain profitable business with minimal leadership guidance
  • Work to improve quality of revenue and yield management
  • Create account specific strategies based on historical data and future growth goals with leadership guidance
  • Influence and mentor peers in a way that offers reciprocal growth
  • Contribute valuable content and tactics to leadership and internal stakeholders during meetings
  • Create RFPs and bid documentation to procure customer-specific pricing from LTL carriers, negotiate rates and service requirements, and collaborate with carrier partners to develop specialized solutions meeting customer objectives and operational requirements.
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent with 2-3  years of relevant transportation logistics, pricing, or finance experience, or comparable combination of education, experience, and training, and/or military equivalent.
  • Knowledge of LTL (asset-based or third-party) or similar complex transportation modes is strongly preferred experience, and training, and/or military equivalent.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in transportation logistics, mathematics, economics, industrial engineering, or a related field with 2-3 years of relevant transportation logistics, pricing, or finance experience, or comparable combination of education, experience, and training, and/or military equivalent.
  • Experience in pricing, costing, procurement, network design/engineering, or comparable skillsets is preferred. Experience at an asset-based LTL carrier is a plus.

Compensation:

Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include skills, education, experience, geography, and other qualifications of the successful candidate.  This position may be eligible for annual bonus and incentives based on profitability or volumes in accordance with the terms of the Company’s bonus and incentive plans, as applicable and in effect from time to time.
