Acciona Construction Australia Pty Ltd is looking for full time employees Intermediate Riggers and Advanced Riggers. You will be expected to assemble and install rigging gear, including, ropes, cables, pulleys and winches, to position structural steel and other heavy materials for the construction of transmission network infrastructure.

The Projects

Central West Orana

Acciona Construction Australia Pty Ltd is part of a consortium including Cobra and Endeavour Energy that have entered a commitment deed with EnergyCo as preferred network operator for the Central-West Orana Renewable Energy Zone (REZ). This will be serviced by new transmission network infrastructure, including transmission lines and energy hubs, which will transfer power generated by solar and wind farms to electricity consumers.

HumeLink East

Acciona Construction Australia Pty Ltd and Genus Infrastructure (NSW) Pty Ltd have been engaged by Transgrid to deliver the eastern portion of the HumeLink project. HumeLink East involves the expansion of the existing Bannaby 500 kV substation, along with the design and construction of a new 500 kV double circuit transmission line. This new transmission line will connect the Bannaby 500 kV substation at the Wondalga interface point with HumeLink West.

• High Risk Work Licence (Rigger Intermediate, and/or Advanced)
• For Intermediate have successfully completed UETDRT0016 - Installing Transmission Structure Hardware or equivalent OR
• Can perform any of the duties Transmission Structure Hardware Installer ( Assisting Overhead Transmission Lines person/s to install Transmission Structure Hardware)
• For Advanced has successfully completed Certificate II - Transmission Line Construction UET20422 OR
• Can perform duties outlined above and any of the following work according to skills/qualifications;
• Can operator brakes, winches and associated rigging equipment to position steel units.
• Can assist overhead transmission lines person/s to string overhead transmission conductors.
• You must meet the minimum requirements to be enrolled with a Registered Training Organisation RTO  that can deliver a High Risk Work Licence (NSW) specific to rigging and/or Certificate II Transmission Line Construction.
• You must be able to demonstrate expertise in relevant transmission line technologies, safety standards and work conditions, noting specific requirements for transmission line work in Australia.
• Strong safety awareness

Enjoy a competitive remuneration package in accordance with the Acciona Construction Australia NSW Transmission Enterprise Agreement 2024 – 2028. Base hourly rates of $46.09 (Intermediate Rigger) and $48.39 (Advanced Rigger) with a base take home package starting at $100,000 (not including overtime). Salaries will vary based on the specific roster arrangements. Additional allowances apply in accordance with the Enterprise Agreement.

Camp Accommodation

Central West Orana

Workers will be engaged on a 14/7 roster and will be provided with camp accommodation. The primary camp will be located in Merotherie, NSW. Camp facilities include dry and wet mess, recreational activities room, covered sports field, outdoor sports field, gym, medical centre, BBQ areas, community room and an onsite convenience store.

HumeLink East

Workers will be engaged on a 21/7 roster and will be provided camp accommodation. Camps are in Yass and Adjungbilly. Camp facilities include, dry mess and wet mess room, laundry facilities, wellness support, gym, open areas for outdoor activities.
