Dow has an exciting opportunity for a Logistics Technical Advisor in Croydon, PA. 

Job Summary:
You will serve in a vital role for Site Logistics, utilizing process knowledge, technical expertise, and site logistics experience to assist, teach and coach site logistics personnel. you will also focus on troubleshooting process or equipment issues, improving process performance, and increasing site logistics reliability. Typically responsible for a small facility.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Acts as a technical/process subject matter resource in the assigned site logistics area.
  • Performs or assists in process related root cause or failure analysis. Leverages and communicates the results to operate site logistics personnel for learning purposes. Ensures thorough and timely pre-investigations occur.
  • Works with continuous improvement and site logistics resources to identify, implement and sustain improvements relating to area of expertise.
  • Develops and maintain site logistics process training material content and qualification assessments.
  • Maintains a high involvement in the formal training process and qualification of team members on site logistics process.
  • Develops a strong partnership with the site logistics activity coordinator/gate keeper and provides back up to these roles, as needed.
  • Maintains “on call” status for plant unplanned events, emergencies and advising.
  • Owns and coaches' others on the effective use of logbook, focusing on quality of information entered and appropriate note type/stamp utilization.
  • Participates in available Technical Advising role networks to improve personal effectiveness and leveraging of best practices.
  • Creates, reviews, modifies and approves operational procedures to ensure sound operating discipline.
  • Partners closely with the site logistics staff to resolve problems, drive continuous improvement, and ensure site logistic goals are achieved. Mentors' new production staff as they on-board and train.
  • Works closely with Activity Coordinators to identify and prioritize maintenance work and operation activities.
  • Owns department-level procedures and leads improvements and modifications to these procedures via the Management of Change (MOC) process.
  • As required, participates on and leads teams in his/her area of accountability. 
  • Prepares and issues safe work permits for logistics related activities.
  • Acts as a role model for strong Environmental, Health & Safety (EH&S) and operating discipline behaviors with the intent of helping to drive safe behaviors amongst team members.
  • Understands and applies Life Critical Standards in the field.

Required Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Must be able to be on-call
  • Must have a current, valid US driver’s license
  • A minimum requirement for this U.S. based position is the ability to work legally in the United States.  No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position, including for any type of U.S. permanent residency (green card) process

Physical Requirements:

Able to meet the following physical demands of the job, with or without reasonable accommodations:

  • Wear safety equipment, such as earplugs, goggles, and steel-toed shoes
  • Wear and use respirators. 
  • Perform frequent bending, reaching, and lifting.
  • Work in tight or closed-in spaces.
  • Climb stairs/ladders and work high off the ground.
  • Stand or walk for extended periods of time.  

Preferred Qualifications:

  • SAP experience.
  • 5 or more years of operations/logistics experience.
  • An associate’s degree in relevant field OR 4+ years military experience is preferred. 

Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft applications, such as Word and Excel, and have the ability to learn new systems quickly.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Good interpersonal skills are required. 
  • Must have strong multi-tasking, problem solving and time management skills.
  • Demonstrate leadership skills - inspire others and lead them through influence.
  • A self-starter who can identify, prioritize and accomplish multiple tasks.
