Software Engineering Intern - Undergraduate

United States, San Mateo: this role must be performed in a hybrid capacity out of the SIE-PlayStation San Mateo, CA office. 

About the Team:

Our team focuses on game development at the intersection of SDK technologies and infrastructure. You’ll be responsible for fast prototyping with experimental technologies to bring new PlayStation experiences into gameplay features. What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Work as a team member on the Game Integration and Validation Platform at the intersection of SDK technologies, game development, and infrastructure.

  • Prototype quickly and effectively with experimental technologies to develop new PlayStation gameplay features.

  • Collaborate with the team to bring innovative PlayStation experiences into gameplay.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Currently enrolled in an accredited institution, pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Game Development, Gaming Technology, or a related field, with an expected graduation date of Spring 2026.

  • Experience with C/C++, Unreal Engine, and knowledge of multi-threaded and multi-core software development.

  • Understanding of network protocols and communication over these protocols.

  • Strong understanding of data structures and algorithms.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work in a team.

  • Self-directed, focused, and diligent.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Eligibility:

  • Able to work during one of the following periods: May 19th - August 8th or June 16th - September 5th.

  • Must be available for the entire 12-week internship period.

  • Open to students who are U.S. citizens or international students with an F-1 visa.

  • Relocation assistance is available for eligible candidates.

Our intern positions offer a fixed hourly pay rate. Please note that the pay rate is exclusive to the internship period and may not reflect what pay may look like following the completion of an internship.

At SIE, we consider several factors when setting each role’s base pay range, including the competitive benchmarking data for the market and geographic location. 

Please note that the base pay range may vary in line with our hybrid working policy and individual base pay will be determined based on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location.

$50$50 USD
