Job Description

Perform duties of a Senior Payroll Accountant for DPR Construction.  This includes participating on a high-performance team, maintaining world class levels of customer service, and ensuring that accounting entries, reconciliations and tax filings are processed on a timely basis with accuracy for multiple EINs.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Prepare various GL/payroll reconciliations.
  • Prepare and/or review payroll tax deposits, monthly/quarterly/annual tax returns.
  • Research and reconcile discrepancies with payroll tax accounts.
  • Assist with audit responses.
  • Resolve tax notices.
  • Process corrections/adjustments as necessary
  • 401K annual compliance testing
  • 401k forfeiture account tracking and reconciliation
  • Prepare 401k corrections/adjustments according to plan documents and IRS requirements.
  • Assist in growth and process improvement projects within the Shared Services and Accounting teams.
  • Ensure that the proprietary nature of financial and payroll information is protected and remains confidential.

Skills:

  • Accounting: Solid aptitude and instincts
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of payroll processes, including multi-state taxation and reciprocity rules.
  • Intermediate to Advanced knowledge/skills in all MS Office applications
  • Advanced knowledge of excel with the ability to manipulate large amounts of data (V/XLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables, etc.)
  • Knowledge of CMiC (construction accounting software) is helpful, but not required
  • Knowledge of construction industry and/or job costing helpful
