Purpose:


McCombs School of Business is looking for a reliable, professional, and collaborative student employee to provide support for the Employer Engagement and Special Events team.

Employer Engagement and Special Events hosts all large-scale Career Management networking events such as BBA Career Expo, MBA Career Connections, and employer/alumni educational events to align employer engagement with student career goals. They take pride in providing meaningful opportunities for employer partners to connect with the BBA, MS, MPA and MBA student populations at Texas McCombs to create innovative recruiting engagements to foster strong connections. In addition, they facilitate student programming to provide experiential learning and educational opportunities to connect students to employers prior to interviews. 

The Employer Engagement and Special Events Student Worker will assist with event preparation, day of event support and general tasks.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide exceptional customer service to students, staff, faculty, and external constituents

  • Perform administrative tasks including data entry and event preparation

  • Collaborate with professional staff on special projects 

  • Create event marketing and promotional materials

  • Complete other tasks as directed 

Required Qualifications:

  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.

  • Must be a University of Texas at Austin student, enrolled for at least 6 credit hours.

  • Experience in communicating both verbally and writing effectively

  • Demonstrated ability to work independently with accuracy and attention to detail 

  • Must possess a professional demeanor and appearance

  • Reliable, punctual, and possess good customer service skills 

  • Experience working with office equipment and Microsoft Suite and machines

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills

  • Microsoft Suite knowledge (Word, Publisher, PowerPoint, etc.) 

  • Experience using Canva

Hourly Rate:

  • $10

Working Conditions:

  • Work performed in standard office conditions.

  • Repetitive use of keyboard at a workstation.

Schedule Work Shift:

  • 10 hours per week

  • Position ends on 4/26/2027

  • Must be available to occasionally work evenings.

  • Rehire eligible based on performance.
