The Red Hat Ansible Engineering team is looking for a highly motivated and passionate Senior Software Engineer to join our Product Delivery Engineering team. As a member of this dynamic team, you will play a crucial role in helping design, develop, and maintain our CI/CD pipelines and testing frameworks that support the automation software development lifecycle. You will work closely with our agile, cross-functional teams to ensure that our Ansible products are delivered with the highest quality and efficiency. Your work will directly impact the reliability and scalability of our automation platform, helping to drive innovation and accelerate product delivery.

What you’ll do

  • Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines to support continuous integration, deployment, and delivery of the Ansible Automation Platform.

  • Support and maintain the AAP Testing Framework to ensure comprehensive automated testing coverage across all product components.

  • Lead efforts to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the testing framework, including the adoption of new tools and technologies.

  • Collaborate with platform engineering delivery teams to integrate CI/CD processes with existing DevOps tools and services.

  • Implement and enforce best practices for code quality, testing, and deployment, ensuring that all deliverables meet high standards of reliability and performance.

  • Participate in code reviews, design discussions, and architecture planning to ensure the best solutions are implemented.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to CI/CD processes and automated testing, providing support to delivery teams as needed.

What you’ll bring

  • Practical development experience in a language like Go or Python; expertise in at least one of the programming languages to build enterprise applications and/or backend services/applications

  • Background in Linux or UNIX operating systems, CI/CD pipelines

  • Experience writing reliable enterprise-grade software

  • Ideally can work Hybrid from Raleigh NC, Boston MA or Lowell MA or any of our other offices

  • Experience working with a globally distributed team and communicating between different teams

  • Ability to examine various technological areas deeply and deliver solutions

  • Willingness to learn new technologies and make an impact

  • Good written and verbal communication skills in English

  • Solid knowledge of version control systems (e.g., Git) and collaborative development practices.

Things considered a plus

  • Familiarity with Red Hat’s Ansible Automation Platform

  • Experience with container-related technologies (Kubernetes, OpenShift, etc.), virtualization, or distributed systems

  • Experience with AWS, GCP or Azure

  • Experience using Ansible as an automation tool

  • Familiarity with the agile methodology and scrum to deliver software solutions

The salary range for this position is $90,480.00 - $144,660.00. Actual offer will be based on your qualifications.

Pay Transparency

Red Hat determines compensation based on several factors including but not limited to job location, experience, applicable skills and training, external market value, and internal pay equity. Annual salary is one component of Red Hat’s compensation package. This position may also be eligible for bonus, commission, and/or equity. For positions with Remote-US locations, the actual salary range for the position may differ based on location but will be commensurate with job duties and relevant work experience.
