The Strategic Business Development Manager- LCS/OEM supports the identification, development, and execution of OEM and strategic business development partnerships that align with our Next-Generation Sequencing strategy. These partnerships may include out-licensing, in-licensing, and channel or OEM collaborations.

This role is responsible for coordinating the deal process end-to-end, from opportunity development and internal alignment through deal execution and post-close partner alliance management. The Business Development Manager works closely with senior BD leadership and cross-functional teams to advance opportunities, support negotiations within defined guardrails, and manage ongoing partner relationships to support successful execution and growth.

A day in the Life

  • Translate customer and market insights to support overall OEM and business development strategy.

  • Identify and develop OEM and strategic business development opportunities.

  • Coordinate execution of deal processes, including preparation of deal materials, basic financial analysis, draft term sheets, and cross-functional diligence.

  • Support negotiation and execution of OEM and BD term sheets and agreements.

  • Provide alliance management support post-close, including business reviews, forecast tracking, and issue resolution.

Keys to Success

Education

  • B.S. in life science

  • MBA or M.S. a plus

Experience

  • 5+ years of relevant experience in business development, program/project management, strategy, or commercial operations within genomics, molecular diagnostics, or life sciences

  • Experience supporting strategic partnership or OEM deal processes preferred

  • Familiarity with IVD product development environments strongly preferred.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Familiarity with regulated environments relevant to OEM and diagnostic partnerships.

  •  Ability to influence and align cross-functional stakeholders to advance opportunities and drive decisions without formal authority.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare clear deal materials and present key considerations to internal and external audiences.

  • Solid analytical and financial acumen to support basic commercial assessments and inform deal decision-making.

  • Proven ability to coordinate complex, cross-functional projects, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines.

  • Ability to work effectively across geographies and cultures in a global organization.

Compensation and Benefits

The salary range estimated for this position based in California is $103,100.00–$154,700.00.

This position may also be eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and/or individual performance results in accordance with company policy. We offer a comprehensive Total Rewards package that our U.S. colleagues and their families can count on, which includes:
