OneMain Financial has an exciting opportunity available for a Part-Time Student/Entry-Level Software Developer, to be based in our West Valley City, UT corporate site. This position is ideal for a student enrolled in a Computer Science or similar major to gain hands-on working experience as they prepare to enter the workforce. The ideal candidate will also live locally in the Greater SLC area.

This role is 20-25 hours per week.  The schedule is flexible and can be adjusted to fit around class schedules.

In the Role   

This full-stack role contributes to the design, development, and testing of software for OneMain Auto’s proprietary systems. This role will provide an opportunity for direct mentorship and training, with a goal to develop you into a Full Stack Software Developer to join the OneMain Auto team in the future.

The position interfaces directly with subject matter experts across multiple business units, including Accounting, Finance, Marketing, Credit, Legal, and Customer Service.

Other responsibilities may include:

  • Assisting with Twilio integrations
  • Expanding/maintaining Bedrock (Loan & Lease Servicing System)
  • Developing/maintaining Foursight.com and Rateworks.com
  • Building out new Loan Origination System (Bedrock/Lapis)
  • Sustaining legacy Loan Servicing System (Bedrock)
  • Designing ad hoc reports, SQL Server Jobs, Telerik reports
  • Collaborating on design, development, and testing strategies

Requirements:     

  • Minimum: Junior standing in a Bachelor’s program in Computer Science or a related field
  • Preferred: One year of hands-on or academic experience developing Windows and web-based applications in Visual Studio with SQL Server
