Northrop Grumman Corporate CIO has an immediate need for a Software Engineer. This position can be performed by a Level 2 (early career) or Level 3 (mid-career) Software Engineer. This role will be onsite at one of the following locations: Melbourne, FL, Roy, UT, or Baltimore, MD.

Responsibilities include:

  • Configure, deploy and administer commercial and open source SW Factory software

  • Work as part of an Agile development team to deliver end-end automation of deployment, monitoring, and infrastructure management framework

  • Develop code to aid in administration of the SW Factory

  • Provide end user support to SW Factory suite of applications

  • Monitor, address, and resolve production SW Factory application incidents, reports

  • Interfacing, collaboratively, with the other development and administration teams inside of Corporate

  • Maintain strong expertise and knowledge of current and emerging technologies and products

  • Provide best practice, recommendations and guidance to manage SW factory operations at scale

Basic Qualifications for a Level 2:

  • Bachelor's degree in STEM with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience OR 0 years of experience with a Master's degree in STEM; OR 6 additional years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree
  • Administration experience with Linux or related operating systems
  • Ability to work well in a virtual team environment, with team members located throughout the country
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Experience in an Agile software development framework
  • Self-starter with the ability to independently resolve issues and deliver results
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills-Server/Client Software installation experience
  • Understanding of core IT competencies (Networking, Servers, DBs, Apps, certs)
  • Experience programing in scripting languages (Python, Java)
  • Active DoD Secret clearance (or the ability to obtain one)
  • Must have the ability to obtain Special Program Access

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Manage containers using container orchestrator Docker, Kubernetes (K8s) preferred
  • Experience of automating tasks using Ansible and/or Terraform   
  • Working practices, such as Git Branching and release schedules                                                                                                     
  • Administration experience with Postgres
  • CompTIA Security+ certification
  • Experience of administering virtualized or containerized systems in VMWare and Docker
  • Experience of designing, deploying, and administering cloud-based solutions such as Amazon Web Service (AWS)

Salary Range: $75,300.00 - $124,900.00Salary Range 2: $92,600.00 - $153,600.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
