Veterinary Assistant

Full-time

Pay: $13/hr (this is a starting out position)

Dawsonville Animal Hospital is seeking a new team member with basic veterinary assistant skills. This ideal candidate will feel confident with proper animal handling, amazing customer service, have the willingness to learn new skills in the veterinary industry, and be a supportive team player.

Requirements:

  • Be on time for scheduled shift (You are counted on by our team, clients, and patients)
  • Confident talking to people
  • Can handle animals properly
  • Has some knowledge of animal behavior and safety
  • Understands the importance of a clean clinic
  • Able to lift 50 lbs and bend easily
  • Able to stand for long periods of time

Responsibilities 

  • Assist veterinarians with exams, treatments, and surgical procedures. 

  • Safely handle and restrain animals; administer medications and vaccines. 

  • Collect lab samples and maintain accurate patient records. 

  • Educate clients on pet care and ensure a clean, organized work environment.
