Country: United Kingdom

Interested in part-time, job-share or flexible working? We want to talk to you!

Join our community.

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Quantitative Analytics Manager to join us in either Milton Keynes or Manchester.

You'll be part of the wider methodology team who are responsible for the development of retail Internal Ratings Based (IRB) models used by the bank and supporting the bank’s exceptional foundations. You'll sit within the IRB and Advanced Analytics team and will focus on the development and assurance of IRB models and continued regulatory compliance.

If you've performed a similar role previously, this could be the perfect opportunity to develop your career.

The difference you’ll make:

  • Overseeing the full end-to-end model development cycle from initiation through to implementation and ongoing assurance

  • Working collaboratively with other members of the team and key stakeholders to build and maintain IRB models to internal and regulatory requirements

  • Using appropriate modelling techniques and tools to drive improvements to existing and new models

  • Managing model risk, including closure of Internal Validation recommendations in a timely manner

  • Translating technical details into real life issues; understandable to senior management

What you’ll bring:

These are the essential requirements you need to be successful in this role:

  • Coaching and mentoring less experienced members of the team

  • Excellent technical background and proven working experience of IRB modelling

  • Excellent management experience of leading teams of quantitative modellers

  • Excellent quantitative skills (Mathematical and Statistical) applied in modelling and data analysis

It would also be nice for you to have:

  • Thorough understanding of IRB regulations from European Central Bank or Prudential Regulatory Authority perspective

  • Advanced knowledge and experience of SAS or similar programming languages

  • Experience across aspects in model risk management such as validation, policies and controls

What else you need to know:

Our preferred location for this role is Milton Keynes, but we’ll also consider locating the role in Manchester.

We want our people to thrive at work and home, and also be able to deliver the best outcomes for our customers and to help each other develop. To support this, we offer site-based contracts with a hybrid working pattern and our expected level of attendance in the Milton Keynes office is at least 12 days per month and Manchester is 5 days per month (pro-rata for part-time roles).

If you apply for this role in these locations, it’s important you consider your travelling distance, time and cost from your home to the office locations.

We’re happy to discuss specific working patterns and arrangement within this hybrid approach during the recruitment process.

If you’re interested in this role but with part time hours or a job-share we would still love to hear from you and discuss these.
