About the role:


As a Principal Software Developer focused on our Developer Portal, you will play a crucial role in designing, developing, and maintaining our portal using Backstage, an open-source platform for building developer portals. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure a seamless and user-friendly experie

What you will do in the role:

  • Portal Development: Design, implement, and maintain our developer portal using Backstage, ensuring a responsive and intuitive user interface.

  • Integration: Collaborate with internal teams to integrate various services, tools, and documentation into the developer portal, streamlining the developer experience.

  • Customization: Customize the Backstage platform to meet the specific needs of our developer community and align with our brand identity.

  • Documentation: Create and maintain clear and comprehensive documentation for developers, making it easy for them to understand and use our APIs, SDKs, and other tools.

  • Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including product managers, designers, and other developers, to understand requirements and deliver high-quality solutions.

  • Feedback and Improvement: Gather feedback from developers and internal stakeholders to continuously improve the developer portal, ensuring it remains a valuable resource for our community.

  • Stay Updated: Stay up to date with the latest industry trends, Backstage updates, and best practices to ensure the developer portal is utilizing the latest technologies and providing an exceptional user experience.


What you need to be successful in the role:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or a related field.

  • Proven experience as a Backstage Developer or similar role.

  • Strong proficiency in JavaScript, React, and related web technologies.

  • Experience with Backstage and its ecosystem is highly desirable.

  • Familiarity with API design principles and best practices.

  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
