Project Role : Technology Support Engineer
Project Role Description : Resolve incidents and problems across multiple business system components and ensure operational stability. Create and implement Requests for Change (RFC) and update knowledge base articles to support effective troubleshooting. Collaborate with vendors and help service management teams with issue analysis and resolution.

Summary:
The resource will be responsible for supporting and maintaining Oracle and SQL Server databases, ensuring their availability, performance, and security. The role involves hands-on database operations, monitoring, and incident resolution while working closely with senior DBAs and cross-functional teams.
Key Responsibilities
Database Administration
Perform routine database administration tasks including installation, configuration, patching, and upgrades
Monitor Oracle and SQL Server databases in production and non-production environments
Execute backup, recovery, and restore activities as per defined procedures
Support database migrations and refresh activities
Performance & Monitoring
Monitor database health and performance using standard monitoring tools
Identify basic performance issues and support tuning activities (queries, indexes)
Escalate complex performance issues to senior DBAs
High Availability & DR Support
Assist in maintaining HA/DR setups (e.g., Oracle Data Guard, SQL AlwaysOn)
Participate in DR drills and validation activities
Ensure backups are successful and meet recovery objectives
Support & Incident Management
Provide L1/L2 support for database-related incidents and service requests
Troubleshoot and resolve routine database issues within SLA
Participate in on-call rotation for production support
Support root cause analysis (RCA) for recurring issues
Collaboration & Delivery
Work with application and infrastructure teams during releases and deployments
Support change management activities and follow release processes
Assist in automation, cloud migration, and modernization initiatives
Exposure to Rimini ADS and Power BI Gateway administration is a plus
Documentation & Compliance
Maintain SOPs, runbooks, and operational documentation
Ensure adherence to security policies, audit, and compliance standards
Follow defined processes for change, incident, and problem management
Required Skills & Qualifications
Technical Skills
Good working knowledge of Oracle Database (basic PL/SQL, monitoring, backups)
Experience with SQL Server administration and basic query optimization
Understanding of backup/recovery concepts and database monitoring tools
Basic knowledge of Linux/Unix commands
Exposure to scripting (Shell/Python) is an added advantage
Experience & Education
Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, or equivalent
4–6 years of experience in database administration or production support
Preferred Certifications
Oracle Certified Associate (OCA) or OCP – preferred
Microsoft SQL certifications – added advantage
Soft Skills
Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills
Good communication and teamwork abilities
Ability to work in shifts and handle production environments
Willingness to learn and upskill
