Position Summary:

At Franklin Templeton, we’re shaping the future of investing through innovation, collaboration, and a broad range of capabilities across asset management, wealth management, and fintech. Our global teams bring deep expertise and diverse perspectives, supported by a culture that’s inclusive, flexible, and growth-focused.

The U.S. Workplace Retirement Marketing team supports the Workplace business, which includes Defined Contribution (DC), Retirement Insurance (RI), and 529 Education Savings, representing over $500 billion in AUM. As part of the U.S. Marketing organization, we partner closely with sales and strategic account teams to align our capabilities with client needs. Our team leads the development and execution of marketing content strategies that highlight Franklin Templeton’s custom retirement solutions—delivering simple, cost-efficient tools and resources that empower financial professionals to support employers and their employees in improving financial well-being.

The ideal intern candidate will play a supportive role in advancing Franklin Templeton’s mission to deliver innovative, personalized retirement solutions tailored to the evolving needs of high-net-worth investors and institutional partners. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain exposure to the asset management landscape while contributing to meaningful projects that drive the firm’s transformation in the retirement space.

As an intern, you will assist in the development of retirement-focused content and digital marketing campaigns, supporting initiatives such as investment solutions, value-add programming, and financial wellness platforms. Through close collaboration with cross-functional teams—including product, distribution, and analytics—you will learn how to help shape messaging strategies that resonate across advisor channels and client segments.

This position offers a dynamic environment where creativity, strategic thinking, and data-driven insights converge to drive meaningful impact. As an intern, you will contribute to how Franklin Templeton communicates its value proposition, enhances advisor engagement, and strengthens its leadership in retirement investing.

The Workplace Retirement Marketing team is at the forefront of Franklin Templeton’s evolution. From crafting client-facing materials to building custom sales enablement tools and advisor training resources, the team is recognized for its agility, creativity, and strategic influence. Marketing here is not just a support function—it’s a strategic partner driving growth and innovation.

As an intern, you will join a highly collaborative environment, working closely with colleagues across distribution, product, and digital client experience to shape the future of retirement messaging and advisor engagement. Opportunities for growth and learning include:

  • Frontline experience: Engage directly with sales teams and strategic partners to understand market dynamics and client needs.
  • Leadership development: Take ownership of high-impact projects spanning campaign strategy, content development, and cross-channel execution.
  • Strategic insight: Help craft narratives that position Franklin Templeton as a leader in retirement innovation—from stable value solutions to amplifying our target-date franchise.
  • Data-driven decision making: Leverage analytics to refine messaging, optimize campaign performance, and support segmentation efforts that improve advisor satisfaction and retention.

Team Culture:

The Workplace Retirement Marketing team at Franklin Templeton is defined by its deep commitment to crafting personalized, high-impact content that speaks directly to the needs of retirement clients—from plan sponsors to high-net-worth investors. Rather than relying solely on data-driven insights, the team excels at translating complex retirement strategies into clear, compelling messaging that advisors can use in the field. This tailored approach ensures that every campaign and resource is aligned with the unique goals of our clients and the evolving retirement landscape.

Collaboration is at the heart of how the team operates. We work closely with sales, product, and training teams to refine messaging and positioning, ensuring that content is not only relevant but also actionable. Through ongoing feedback loops and usage tracking, we stay connected to how resources are being leveraged in the market and continuously evolve our approach. This alignment across departments helps drive strategic impact, deepen advisor engagement, and reinforce Franklin Templeton’s leadership in retirement solutions.

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with sales, product, and training teams to refine messaging and positioning of custom retirement solutions.
  • Learn how marketing aligns with strategic account teams to ensure content is leveraged effectively in the market.
  • Understand how feedback loops and usage tracking inform ongoing content evolution and campaign strategy.
  • Contribute to digital initiatives that enhance advisor engagement and client experience.
  • Build foundational skills in communication, leadership, and strategic marketing execution.

Key Responsibilities Can Include:

  • Financial education: Support initiatives that promote financial literacy among Gen Z and individuals preparing for retirement, positioning Franklin Templeton as a trusted leader in retirement education.
  • Sales enablement & pitch support: Assist with client pitches by preparing compelling engagement materials and training the Sales team to effectively communicate our value proposition.
  • Content management & sales training: Maintain a well-organized library of pitch and educational materials for Sales. Participate in Sales meetings to provide training and ensure strategic communication, with all resources kept up to date in the CRM system
  • Custom campaign development: Collaborate with the Creative Services team to develop tailored marketing campaigns targeting retirement plan advisors and their employer-sponsored clients.
