Overview:

This position is an integral role within M&T’s Mortgage Bankruptcy team that will assist in execution of day to day functions including the activation of the bankruptcy workstation, identification and distribution of mail, document imaging and calculation and preparation of quotes.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Set up the bankruptcy workstation and assign attorneys to specialists.
• Document reaffirmation agreements.
• Provide continuous monitoring of the bankruptcy mailbox, responding timely to all inquiries.
• Document motions for relief, post-petition fee notices, proofs of claim, affidavits, etc., and send to Attorney's Firms.
• Obtain missing documents and coordinate with other departments as necessary.
• Calculate payoff and reinstatement quotes, add in fees, including taxes, hazard insurance, restricted escrows, attorney fees and costs.
• Adhere to applicable compliance/operational risk controls in accordance with Company or regulatory standards and policies.
• Maintain M&T internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators as applicable.
• Promote an environment that supports belonging and reflects the M&T Bank brand.
• Complete other related duties as assigned.

Scope of Responsibilities:

This position interacts with internal CAM departments and external third-party Attorney Firm vendors.

Education and Experience Required:

A combined 2 years’ higher education and/or relevant work experience.

Working knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet and email software.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Detail oriented.

Motivated, team player with a positive and friendly attitude.

Understanding of collections servicing systems.

Education and Experience Preferred:

Associate’s degree.

Knowledge of M&T Bank systems.

M&T Bank is committed to fair, competitive, and market-informed pay for our employees. The pay range for this position is $18.68 - $31.14 (USD). The successful candidate’s particular combination of knowledge, skills, and experience will inform their specific compensation.
