ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (Other duties may be assigned.)

·         Provide financial support and general business acumen to various levels of management across all functional departments.  Additional responsibility as a primary FP&A business partner to a General Manager to help GM drive full P&L profit forecasting and analysis, project payback analysis, being proactive with suggesting opportunities to improve the bottom line through cost savings initiatives/actions. Continuous direct involvement with GM meetings and active engagement and collaboration with the business functional areas supporting the P&L and other financial related support

·         Project-like ownership of various monthly or periodic reports, identifying insight to drive business decisions. This includes the creation and/or maintenance of consolidated financial reports, comparing actuals to forecast and budget and various reports related to business drivers/metrics

·         Project-like ownership of portions of the budget, forecast, and Long Range Plan, including driving assigned areas to completion

·         Create and/or maintain reports in Excel, Workday Adaptive, SAP BPC, Smartview/Hyperion, Jet Reports, Navision, and other systems, from simple to more complex

·         Business understanding of what numbers should be, based on sanity check of reasonableness and validation of master data/reports, utilizing check-figures for accuracy

·         Initiative to add value to Watkins and continuously improve areas of responsibility and areas of visibility, as a LEAD driver of improvements in functional area of responsibility.

·         Insight and analytical skills to see issues, ability to identify improvements, and execute with minimal supervision

·         Ability to review excel files (and other systems) and understand the function and how they were built, and be able to make changes as business needs change, without jeopardizing the integrity/accuracy of the files

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's degree from four-year college or University; Progressive FP&A experience with Senior level experience at a minimum of 3-5 years. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Master’s Degree Preferred; CPA a plus

COMPUTER AND OTHER SKILLS

Advanced MS Excel knowledge is a must. Experience with Navision or other ERP systems. Experience with Workday Adaptive, Power BI, SAP BPC, Hyperion, and/or other Enterprise Performance Management Tool product is a plus.  Must be able to prepare reports, worksheets, charts, schedules, procedures, and other data as necessary. Able to present information to a group of co-workers, supervisors, managers or higher-level executives.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Strong verbal and written communication skills.   The individual must be able to interface with co-workers, internal departments, service providers, and customers in a fast paced environment that requires multi-tasking.  Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, owner’s operating manual, and service procedure manuals. 


MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.  Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

 

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.  Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
