Principal Accountabilities

Lead Package Gases Productivity Initiatives:
Drive continuous improvement projects across PG Operations (cylinder gases transfills, redistribution centers, sales centers, and cylinder retest facilities). Ensure strong alignment with EH&S, R&D, Marketing, Retail, Engineering, Procurement, Logistics, and Asset Management. Facilitate knowledge exchange with European and Asian subregions.

Standardize and Optimize Operational Processes:
Identify and implement best practices and state-of-the-art tools to enhance cost, service, quality, and safety. Oversee the development and deployment of production planning and execution processes, and support site design and layout improvements. Establish guidelines, qualifications, and training materials for PG Operations managers and supervisors.

Execute Regional Optimization Studies:
Conduct operational studies in subregions using Lean, Six Sigma, and Operations Research tools to drive productivity, service, quality, and safety improvements. Benchmark and replicate best practices across Air Products sites. Audit adoption and compliance with standardized processes.

Facilitate Community of Practice:
Serve as Functional Owner for PG Operations, organizing regular knowledge-sharing sessions with European counterparts. Lead quarterly CoP programs with Asian subregions.

Develop and Maintain Standardized KPIs and Reporting:
Establish and monitor PG Operational KPIs and dashboards to meet safety, quality, customer experience, and productivity objectives.

Governance and Compliance:
Create and approve eMOCs for PG Operations activities, ensuring compliance with internal and external standards.

Support Innovation/digitalisation and Product Development:
Collaborate with R&D, Marketing, and Engineering to pilot and roll out new products and production techniques.

Talent Management:
Lead the selection, training, and development of central PG Operations staff, ensuring a high-performing team.

Technical Leadership:
Provide expert guidance on PG Transfill construction and production equipment across Asia.

Team Management:
Direct teams responsible for PG equipment and operational assets, ensuring optimal performance and safety.

Regional Best Practice Implementation:
Work closely with subregions to drive adoption of best operating practices and achieve fiscal targets across all facilities.

External Representation:
Represent Air Products at AIGA technical committee meetings, contributing technical expertise and industry leadership.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related discipline.
  • At least 10 years of combined experience in supply chain and engineering roles; prior experience in industrial packaged gases manufacturing is highly desirable. And 5 years Pan Asia team management experience.
  • Demonstrated analytical and organizational skills, with a creative approach to problem-solving; fluent in English.
  • Strong abilities in negotiation, communication, motivation, and influence, with proven cultural sensitivity and effectiveness in achieving results through others. Experience working within an international, cross-functional matrix organization.
  • Solid understanding of production optimization principles and theories—including layout, planning, and execution—to develop policies, processes, and recommend appropriate tools.
  • Knowledge of packaged gases business processes and SAP system functionalities.
  • Experience facilitating continuous improvement (CI) initiatives such as process mapping, Lean, and Six Sigma; these skills are required but can be developed on the job.
