Job Description Summary
The person will be reporting directly to the Cybersecurity, Telecom and SCADA manager. The successful candidate will be part of a highly motivated and dynamic team of engineers working on the development of projects for GSI NAM.
The Senior Lead SCADA engineer is responsible for performing and leading all technical aspects of major projects including Substation Automation (substation HMI, gateway, network) and Cybersecurity. The Senior Lead SCADA engineer will be the main liaison interfacing with all other technical entities on major projects including BOP, Auxillary Systems, HMI and SCADA Automation. The Lead SCADA engineer will also interface directly with the Cybersecurity lead to ensure all aspects of the project adhere to Cybersecurity and NERC CIP standards and should have great attention to detail and lead other designers and Engineers to deliver a high-quality product on time and under budget with a safety mindset. The Senior Lead SCADA engineer will also support standardization efforts based on market (Data Center, HVDC, Renewable) to improve efficiency of the team.

Essential Responsibilities
- Ability to provide high level design specification for complex Substation Automation, and SCADA Systems, which may include multiple sites. The Senior Lead SCADA Engineer must be creative and able to lead their project design team to deliver a high-quality product on time and under budget.
- Ability to design and lead the development of SCADA detailed design, including cybersecurity solutions, in coordination with the Cybersecurity Lead, on multiple projects.
- Ability to design network architectures to support development of substation automation (HSR, PRP, RSTP, etc.)
- Ability to review and coordinate detailed design from vendors and manufacturers to ensure delivery of optimized design compliant with the specifications and incorporating safety in design practices.
- Coordinate SCADA design with other disciplines (protection and control, primary design, site managers, commissioning engineers and field personnel). For large projects, it may include integration with EMS or ISO control center.
- Coordinate design activities will all project stakeholders (customer, project manager, project engineering manager, etc.)
- Participate to Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and Site Acceptance Test (SAT) and ensure all test documents are prepared in accordance with the customer specification.
- Prepare engineering estimates for SCADA and Cybersecurity equipment quantities and costs for proposals.
- During project execution, communicate with Project Engineering Manager to resolve engineering and design aspects that impact material cost, schedule, engineering budget, safety and quality
- Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for substation automation and as a mentor for the secondary design team.
- Coordinate with internal cybersecurity teams and external vendors to achieve project goals.
- Ability to communicate effectively with the customer and report any potential opportunity for variations or risks to the project to the Project Engineering Manager and Project Manager
- Identify and Lead improvements and standardization in design, development of standard documentation, quality, productivity.

Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited university.
- 5+ years of experience designing HV/EHV substation SCADA and telecom systems across utility, renewable, and industrial sectors.
- Licensed as a Professional Engineer

- Fluent in written and spoken English
- Ability and willingness to travel 20% of the time, including international, and must comply with all relevant company travel and tax policies
- Solid understanding of industrial control systems (ICS), supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) systems, and other OT technologies.
- Demonstrated Experience of OT-specific protocols and standards such as Modbus, DNP3, IEC 61850, and OPC.
- Experience in Industrial communication network and system security IEC 62443 standards.
- Good understanding of NERC CIP Cybersecurity regulation.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Self-motivated with excellent organizational and time management skills
- Strong presence in front of customers and focused on delivering value to customers
- Experience with substation projects, include renewable energy

For candidates applying to a U.S. based position, the pay range for this position is between $113,200.00 and $188,800.00. The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set.
Bonus eligibility: discretionary annual bonus.
