About the Role
An exciting opportunity exists for an enthusiastic, motivated Registered Nurse to join the Cancer Services, Chemotherapy Day Unit nursing team.

The CDU nurse under the guidance of the Nurse Unit Manager or Associate Nurse Unit Manager will be responsible for providing a high level of clinical cancer nursing care to patients who require anti-cancer treatments.  This role requires an experienced haematology/oncology registered nurse with the following skills and competencies

  • Experience with providing care to patients with haematology and oncology malignacies
  • Experience in administering chemotherapy
  • Completed ADAC training
  • Competent in CVAD care and IVC cannulation
  • Post Grad (or working towards) in cancer nursing is desirable


Classifications for this position will range from YU11 ($110,614.40 per annum, pro rata).

Your Contribution

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in acute Oncology/Haematology nursing
  • Competent in ADAC or working towards completion.
  • Expert cannulation skills
  • Demonstrate ‘best practice’ clinical nursing skills and knowledge
  • Current National criminal history check, or willing to obtain

About the Chemotherapy Day Unit
The Chemotherapy Day Unit (CDU) provides nursing care to patient’s receiving cancer treatment. Working in close collaboration with Haematology and Oncology, the CDU is collocated with the cancer clinics and pharmacy. The CDU provides approximately 7000 episodes of care each year with a focus on clinical trials. The Chemotherapy Day Unit is also responsible for the SURC and Apheresis Units which are collocated.
